Best Friends Push The Limits

“WE NEED TO TALK NOW!!!!”

The very last message on Jason’s phone from his girlfriend…

“Oh fuck! Oh fuck oh fuck!” We are screwed man bigtime! “Mel is going to kill me and tell everyone about us!” John stopped and was thinking for a bit on how to approach the situation. By this time it was 7pm, way past normal time to be at the school with no practices going on. Both young men hurried up and grabbed their stuff, still half wet from their showers with their clothes clinging to them in all the right places. 

Both guys tell eachother a quick goodbye with John asking “hey man what are you going to say to her when you see her?” Jason with a blank look on his face staring at his hot as fuck best friend who he just did the unimaginable with about 20 minutes earlier, said “bro…I have no idea…but I’m scared as fuck…” “If you need anything at all man…you know you can call anytime” John tells him getting into his car to head home before, he himself starts getting questioned.

Jason gets into his truck and closes the door and starts it up. He just sits there wondering “what the fuck have I done…if she tells anyone…my life is over, John’s life is over and hell even coach, fuck what have we done!?” He put his seatbelt on and proceeds to put the truck in drive and starts to leave the school. He looks down and his phone is starting to ring again….the name on the caller ID on the phone says Mel. “Fuck…” Jason says to himself taking a deep breath before picking up and answering it. 

“Hello?” “What in the actual fuck Jason! What the fuck did I almost walk in on? You and John…I knew you guys were close but not fucking each other like a bunch of fags!” The anger in her voice was obvious and Jason did feel bad for her. “It just happened Mel…” he was trying not to let her know that deep down he had been secretly hoping something would happen with his best friend of 15 years. “Jason….answer me this and please tell me honestly…are..you” you could hear the change in her tone of voice from mad to sad and Jason himself was starting to get a bit emotional listening. “Are you…gay? Am I just some cover for you so nobody knows!?” Jason was silent on his end of the phone. He knew whatever he said next would change his life forever one way or another. He was hoping he wouldn’t have gotten caught like he did but that was now neither here nor there. He sighed “Mel…I don’t really know what I am…I’m so confused at the moment but I didn’t set out to hurt you. That has never been my intention for anything ever and you know that. I just want…I just… I have no idea what else to say to you. It just happened.” Jason listened and he heard silence on the other end of the phone…”did she hang up on me?” He thought but no…just then he heard breathing on the other end and Mel crying. Finally Mel stopped crying long enough to tell Jason “I need some time to process all of this…please don’t call me or text me until I say I’m ready to talk. Anything you say or do will not help me right now.” Jason sighed knowing very well this was to be expected. He answered her back “ok…will wait for you to say you’re ready to talk.” They said goodbye and the phone hung up.

“Fuck! What the hell have I done” he said out loud with his head in his hands.
