GayDemon's review of Next Door Buddies

Next Door Buddies focuses on guy-next-door types - mostly jocks who fuck or jack off for the camera, although the newest episodes are mostly hardcore. You can check out the guys on the tour and not only is there a description and pics from each episode, but there's also a brief video trailer. In fact, if you click around the tour a bit, you can get a very good idea of the member area. This isn't our first visit, and it looks like the site has done a lot of growing, so let's log in so we can get a closer look at what's new inside Next Door Buddies.

The navigation at Next Door Buddies has been streamlined, making the site easier to use and more attractive. The links now run across the top of the page followed by a brief "about us" paragraph. Next comes the latest update followed by 8 more recent updates. There are no banners or misleading links on the page, and all the updates include an action pic, names of the models and the running time of the video and number of pics.

The videos are available in 3 formats - WMV, Quicktime and streaming Flash. These are full videos, the newer WMVs and Quicktime vids shown at 720x400 and the older ones at 720x480, the WMVs at about 2 Mbps and the Quicktimes at around 1.3 Mbps. That means that the WMVs are a bit better quality than the Quicktimes, but they both look fine, although the newer videos are a bit better than the older ones. The WMVs and Quicktime videos are downloadable and use no DRM. There are streaming Flash vids shown at around 720x480, at below average quality. Both the WMVs and the Flash vids come in a smaller broadband size, as well.

When it comes to pics, Next Door Buddies delivers. Each video comes with a set of vidcaps, shown at approx the size of the videos, and there are also 205 sets of good quality digital stills. These pics are pretty large, shown at 800x1200, and not only do they look good but they show the action very well. There are anywhere from 23 to over 150 pics per set, although no zip files are available - if you find a set you like, you'll have to save the pics one at a time.

The guys inside Next Door Buddies are either hunky or cute or both. Some of the models appear in several videos, and also appear in the other sites in the network, so I'm not sure if you can call them amateurs - but they are pretty hot. The content inside the site includes solo jerkoffs and hardcore, but the newer stuff is mostly 2-guy action and some group scenes as well. It looks like the cameramen have got some experience - the action is all caught well and the cumshots are caught in good quality closeups. The lighting is a little hard but overall I'd consider the camera work to be very good amateur quality, verging on pro-am.

All members get access to 5 gay bonus sites from the same network - Cody Cummings, Stroke That Dick, Next Door Male, Mason Wyler and Tommy D & Friends -and one straight site called Next Door Hookups. While 5 of the bonus sites are listed on the bonus page, a link to Mason Wyler has not yet been added to the bonus page, so you will have to type in the address and then log in. The guys in these sites are mostly the same jock-next-door style, and in fact some are the same guys. Because of this, I'd say these sites add a lot of value for members.

The site does have a couple issues. One is that there's a pre-checked offer on one of the join pages, and it's off on the right where you may not notice it. Another is that when you hit back from the join page, a popup will appear. And last, if you're Canadian or will be in Canada, be sure and read the terms and conditions as there are some unusual ones regarding Canada.

Next Door Buddies has everything they claim to have - the men are hot and the downloadable videos focus on the action and the cumshots. The site adds a new episode once a week, and has grown so it now offers 228 vids. There's also been some improvements including increasing the size of the older videos, improving navigation and adding another bonus site. If you like watching horny guys suck cock, fuck and jack off, Next Door Buddies is definitely worth checking out!
