Male Digital is a video library that has grown a lot since our first review just under 9 months ago. The site now offers 899 full scenes from 193 DVD titles, which is 587 more full scenes more than it offered on our last visit. The tour allows you to browse all the DVD titles and see how many scenes are available from each movie, the length of each clip, size of the download and the video cover plus some vidcaps. Each DVD has a short trailer, and while the trailers are smaller than the videos inside, they do give a taste of each video. One other very cool thing about Male Digital is that it updates with at least one new full scenes every single day!
Male Digital lets members either browse videos by latest updates, which are listed by scene and date, or by DVD. If you choose to browse DVDs rather than updates, you can browse by studio or category. There's a good selection of categories available, but there are only 11 studios listed, which is 5 more studios than on our last visit. You can also browse the up and coming updates, too. One thing I didn't find inside Male Digital was a search box allowing members to search by keyword or pornstar name, and while there are enough search options to make this site satisfying to use, I'd have still liked to have the ability to create my own searches.
The videos are watchable by scene, and there are a variety of options, both streaming and downloadable. The full scene that is actually marked STREAMING opens a new window that plays a large Flash format video. There are also several sizes of video in WMV and Quicktime formats including a video sized for dialup users. The BIG VERSION of each video is shown at 720x480 with a bitrate of just over 2 Mbps. Sound is good, and while these movies aren't true DVD quality, the quality is better than most of what is out there.
One thing that has changed since our last visit is that the progressive WMV downloads don't seem to work anymore. These are basically streaming versions of the videos, and since the site has added streaming Flash vids, it's not a big issue.
Did I mention that the videos inside Male Digital use no DRM? What that means is that you won't need to get a license each time you want to watch a movie, and that the movies won't stop playing after your membership expires. It also means that most Mac and Lnux users will have no problems watching the videos.
Each scene comes with a set of pics. These are vidcaps, which are videos taken from the video rather than digital stills, which are shot with a camera. Vidcaps - or screencaps - are lower in quality than digital stills, but as vidcaps go, these aren't too bad. They are about the same size as the videos, although I found them to be a hair taller than the movies they are taken from. You probably won't want to put these on your desktop, but if you want a preview of the action in each scene, the pics are definitely worth a look.
While some niches like anal and frat boys are pretty well filled, some - like leather and muscular may have only 15 or 20 scenes listed. The good news is you can see every DVD by browsing the tour, so you won't have to join looking for videos that they offer under 20 of in the member area - just check your porn category before you join.
The most exciting thing about Male Digital is the daily updates, adding at least one new scene each day to their 899 videos. Thanks to those updates, the site has 587 more scenes than it did 9 months ago, and most of the categories have filled out nicely. I also appreciate that surfers can browse every DVD title by scene, so you know before you join what movies are inside the site. I liked the size and quality of the downloadable WMVs and that there are Quicktime vids and streaming Flash vids available. I'd say that Male Digital has a lot to offer those looking for a gay porn DVD video collection that adds new content every single day, and is definitely worth checking out!

As noted by the Gay Demon reviewer, this site really DOES update quite regularly. From Jan 25-29, 2007, for example, 12 updates were (or will be) posted. Unfortunately, for those of us who prefer unadulterated GAY porn, 11 of those 12 updates were of a bisexual nature.
Also, like the reviewer, I often couldn't stream the videos. The streaming feature sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. One other petty gripe: on several of the videos the MaleDigital.com logo is far too large, extending as it does halfway across the bottom of the video image. That's more than a bit distracting, since the action is more often than not happening at the bottom of the screen.
Of the videos I've so far seen, they've been of uniformly good to excellent quality, both in picture and sound. Judging by the accents heard, I'm guessing many of these videos were produced in Eastern Europe. Nothing wrong with that, since the guys are all fresh-faced good looking, well built, and well hung. Best of all, these particular videos aren't ruined with loud, thumping, irritating, disco muzak. Most, especially those from Eagle Video, have either very little or no music at all. In my humble opinion, besides seeing, it's always hot hearing guys going at it.
Even at $30 a month, I think Male Digital is a worth your while site that provides some quality porn for both the eyes and ears. Now, I'm just hoping the site will scrap the bisexual ONLY updates thing for a while. :-)
