twink | Twink, a gay slang term to define a young male between 18 and 22 years of age.

Meaning

Originally meaning a young thin male, with little if any body hair, generally a white male, with blond hair of a slight but attractive body.

More modern meaning simply implies a youthful male, not just blond or Caucasian.

Some stretch the age limit to include those up to 25 years of age, though the purists and most, refer to twinks being no younger than 18 years of age, and no older than 22 years.

History

History (Legend): No actual facts exist, though in some lore the word was derived from the Hostess Pastry, that was oblong shaped, golden on the outside, and contained a white creamy substance inside. It was used to describe the young gay male, who was golden skinned (from too much time in the sun) who had loads of cum to be expelled.

It also implied a lack of intelligence, as a 'twinkie' isn't considered healthy food, but more of a snack food. This implies that a twink was risky for long term commitment, but good for a quickie or two.

There are some who would compare sex with a Twink to be like fast food, or a snack. Today however, a Twink is simply a term for young. Added qualifiers narrow the meaning down, such as 'muscle' or 'femme' or other terms.

Practice

Anything goes, though in early days it meant more standard sexual practices, no kink as the 'backronym' meant. However that has since changed, nor does twink sex mean sex with a twink and someone older.

There are many 'twinks' who stick to age group.

Practice (Associated Acts): Twink is a 'generic' term referencing a young gay male. Depending on the 'qualifier' that is attached, it can have other meanings. For example, adding 'butch' would give the connotation that the young male is aggressive, or more of a 'top' than a 'bottom'.

Noteworthy: After its introduction, a backronym* was created for Twink, in which it meant Teenaged, White, Into No Kink.

*Backronym refers to an acronym created after the word gained popularity.

Other meanings

[Negative] In some cases, it was used to describe a young male that was superficial or lacking in intelligence.

'Twink' is also used to describe a persons taste in sexual partner, rather than using more 'suggestive' terms like 'boy' or 'teenager'.
