Often times used to impart a social message about sex, in a humorous manner, rather than in a documentary style or dry form.
Ribald Tales, pictures, etc, are more about the humor, rather than to stimulate one sexually, though some officials argue the contrary point.
Generally, ribald humor is for specific settings, like a stag party, or among a group of friends in private, or in a social setting of a bar. Not for use though at a Church Social or such.
