Definition
Bareback sex is sex in which neither partner wears a condom. A term most commonly used amongst gay people, also referred to in porn as barebacking, breeding or raw sex.
History
Before the mid-1980's, anal sex in both the gay community and gay porn was condom-free. When AIDS awareness became widespread, more and more people began to use condoms and the gay and porn communities began to support protected sex. Many men and some women find the increased sensation and look of an uncovered penis more pleasurable than sex while wearing a condom. Also as with most prohibitions, once there was less and less unprotected sex in adult entertainment, the taboo of barebacking made it more erotic and so both in adult videos and between younger men bareback sex is making a comeback.

Bareback sex is simply insertion of the penis into the anus (see anal sex) or vagina without using a condom.
