You Don't Have To (Chapter Five)

-Marc Adams-

"What?" Jake asked.

"I like you." I repeated a little louder.

He became silent as he continued to help clean my busted lip. I didn't say anything as well until he finished.

After he was done cleaning up and fixing the kit, I broke the silence.

"Please say something." I told him.

"Uhm... I have no idea what to say. I mean, I like you too. A lot." He replied.

"That's great! That means you're my boyfriend now." I said.

"Whoa, slow down there. We haven't been on a single date yet. Besides, what if I don't like to be your boyfriend." He joked.

"Okay, fine." I started as I stood up then bent on one knee, "Jake, would you like to go on a date with me?" I asked looking at his face.

"I'd love to." He replied with a smile plastered on his face.

-Jake Miller-

"That was great. Thank you very much." I said.

"It was my pleasure." Marc replied with a warm smile. He stood behind me as I stood up from the table and escorted me out of the restaurant.

"Now what do you want to do?" Marc asked.

"I don't know, you are the one taking me on a date." I replied pointing to his chest.

"I'll have you know, I didn't go out on dates much when I was in high school. So I don't what to do next." Marc told me.

"I find it hard to believe that someone as hot as you didn't go on dates." I joked.

"It's true, that's why I am asking you." Marc replied.

"Well, don't you watch movies? Especially the romantic ones." I asked while we were walking aimlessly in the cold night.

"I think what happens in movies is that they have sex." Marc replied nonchalantly, looking far.

I was shocked at what he said.

"Is that what you want to do?" I just asked.

He looked at me and smiled then wrapped his arm around me. Then he said, "Not tonight, I'm kind of enjoying this walk we are having. Where are we headed anyway?"

"I don't know. It looks like we're going straight to the park." I replied.

We continued our walk towards the park with Marc's arm draped over me.

"We should go here more often. I like it here." Marc said looking around.

We sat on a bench and he told me to put my head on his lap.

"I never knew you had very soft hair." Marc said playing with my hair.

I was looking at his face in the moonlight and his eyes, they are so alluring. I have always known that Marc have bright green eyes but under the moonlight they look so different.

"Why are you looking at me so weird?" Marc snapped me out of my daze.

"It's just that your eyes, they're so beautiful." I said, almost whispered.

"Thanks but yours are more enchanting." He said as he continued to play with my hair.

-Marc Adams-

We were sitting on a bench with Jake's head resting on my lap and we were talking about random stuff, everything was perfect.

"I'm going to ask you a very awkward question but you can choose not to answer it." Jake said.

"Okay, I guess." I replied.

"Are you a virgin?" he asked, staring directly at me.

It's a good thing it's a little dark in the bench or he would've seen me blush.

I was quiet for a few seconds but I managed to answer, "I did have a blowjob once."

"What?!" Jake asked in shock, "You mean to tell me I was your first?" sitting upright.

I didn't answer.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry Marc!" Jake said kneeling in front of me.

"No, don't be. I'm happy it was you!" I held his shoulder and made him stand up.

"Why didn't you tell me that! I thought that...!" Jake started.

I stopped him with a kiss that I have been wanting to do to him forever.

It's my very first kiss and my mind was going crazy, I had no idea what I was doing.

His lips were very soft like cotton candy.

Jake was shocked by my sudden boldness, but a few moments later he wrapped his arms around me and kissed me back.

"That was..." We were both breathing hard and I was out of words when we parted from the kiss.

"That was amazing." Jake said.

"I have no point of reference, but yeah that was amazing." I said in between breaths.

Jake's eyes grew wide, "Even your first kiss?!"

I smiled at him and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

"We should get going, it's getting late." I said.

We went out of the park and walked back onto the street and grabbed a cab back to our dorm room.

During the ride back Jake was resting his head on my shoulder.

"Did you have fun?" I asked.

"Everything was great." Jake said.

"Good night." I said as Jake entered his room.

"I had fun, we should do it again sometime." Jake said.

I entered my room removed my clothes, leaving my boxers, brushed my teeth, washed my face and went straight to bed.

I was drifting into dream land when I hear my door creak and open a little.

"Jake? Is that you?" I ask looking at the door.

"I told!!" The shadow jumped and tackled me.

The voice sounded familiar, it's from Chase.

"You don't take anything from me!" I hear Chase while he was punching the hell out of me.

I tried to fight him back but the blankets were holding me back. I heard a very familiar voice before passing out.

"Marc? Marc?" I hear as I open my eyes.

"Where is he?" I ask in panic.

"How are you feeling?" Jake asked.

"Where is the son of a bitch?!" I ask sitting straight up.

"He's gone. How are you feeling?" Jake replied, the tears were obviously forming at the sides of his eyes.

"I'm fine. Don't cry, it's okay. I'm okay." I say hugging Jake.

"I'm sorry, I was just really worried about you." Jake replied hugging me back, his tears flowing freely, "I think you should rest, the doctor said you need to get some rest." He added as he let me go.

"I don't think I can rest now. I need to know what happened." I ask.

"It was horrible. I woke up to a sound that I heard coming from your room. I wondered what that could be. I opened my door slowly and when I saw Chase hitting your head again and again. He kept on saying that you don't take anything from him. I quickly ran to my room and get the baseball bat that I keep for emergencies. When I got the courage, I ran back to your room and hit Chase in the head as hard as I can. I thought that would be enough to knock him out. I rushed to your side and I saw your face, everything was bloody..." Jake barely finished.

"No...stop. I'm fine now. I'm alive." I try to console him.

"I don't know what to do. I was so scared that I might lose you forever. I sat by your side crying, thinking what I could possibly do to help you. That's when Chase yanked me up, choking me with the bat. All I could think of doing was to scream for help. I tried to escape, I hit his stomach with my elbow and he loosened his grip on me. I screamed for help as loud as I could. He decided to shut me up by hitting me in the face. Before I lost my consciousness a bunch of people from the other rooms came in and that's the last thing I remember." Jake said, "When I saw you open your eyes, I was so relieved and so happy." Jake finished.

I look at his left eye and I clearly see the beginnings of a black eye, I touch it and he winces. I felt so bad, I didn't do anything to protect him.

"Where is the scumbag that did this to you?" I ask, caressing his face.

"The doctor said he's at the police station somewhere. I didn't ask where. Now please rest, you need to get your strength back." Jake said, wiping his eyes.

"Do you really need to do this?" Jake asked.

"I'm doing this for the both of us. You don't need to come with me if you don't want to." I reply.

He didn't reply as we went out of our room.

It has been a couple of days since the incident, and this is the first time that Jake and I are going to see Chase. There are still bruises on my face, and Jake's black eye is almost gone.

The ride to the police station was silent but Jake's arms were wrapped around mine and our hands our intertwined the entire time. When we arrived we saw Chase wearing the orange uniforms prisoners wear. His face looks a lot different now, there are dark circles around his eyes and he looks like he lost weight in just less than a week. His overall appearance just looked worse than when I first saw him. The police officers were by our side when Chase was brought in front of us, the same is for Chase.

"What do you want?" Chase asked in an annoyed manner.

"I want you to apologize for what you did. Everything you did." I said.

"What if I don't want to? Besides, you're the one who did something to me. You are the one who stole my toy." He said.

Hearing him say that Jake is his toy made something inside me snap and I just lost control. Before I knew it my fist was flying towards Chase's face. He was knocked back and when he stood up he was covering his eye. That must have been where my punch landed. The police officers were holding me and Chase back from each other.

"Jake is mine! Jake is mine!" Chase kept repeating as they dragged him away from us into another room.

"You can let go of me now." I said to the police officers holding me.

"That was uncalled for." One of the police officers said.

"The wasn't enough punishment for what he did." I started, "You know what he did to him?" I said pointing to Jake, "He used him as a toy. He raped him, abused him whenever he wanted! Punching him was not enough!" I finished steaming.

"Marc, calm down." He tried to calm me down.

"I don't know why you aren't furious. You were the one who was abused." I said.

"I am. But I don't think screaming at police officers is the way to let the steam off. This isn't the answer." Jake replied.

"You're right. I'm sorry." I said.

"If what you are telling is true, you could file a case against him, and that would be on top of his current charges." The police officer suggested.

"I don't care what I must do, I just want him to rot in prison." I said.

A month later and Chase was found guilty and he was sentenced to prison for ten years. As it turned out, he was taking some illegal drugs as well.

Jake and I have been dating for more than a month as well. We haven't done it if that's what you're thinking. We have given each other blowjobs though, and each one of them was amazing.

"I can't believe midterms is just two days from now." Jake said.

"I know, everything is moving too fast. Before we know it we are degree holders." I joked.

In those two days, we never left each other's side. We only went out for classes and to eat. When the exam week started, all we did was eat, read and sleep.

"We should celebrate when all of this is done." I suggest.

"We should and this time it's my treat." Jake said. After the incident, Jake found an actual part time job bartending at Starbucks.

"Nope, I couldn't let you do that. It's your turn next time." I said.

"But..." Jake started. I interrupted him with a kiss.

"Not buts." I said as I kissed him again.

"Wow, this place is amazing." Jake said.

"I'm happy you liked it." I said.

The food was amazing and the company was even better. I had such a fun time just talking with Jake, it was magical. I have been wanting to ask Jake something for a long time now and I think this is the best time.

I knelt down on one knee and pulled out a small box out of my jacket.

Jake looks surprised, perfect.

"Jake Miller, this past month has been amazing beyond words. It was all because of you. I know we had ups and downs, but I couldn't have gone through it without you." I was sweating like hell right now, "I know we've only been dating for a month but, would you like to make it official? Will you, Jake Miller, be my boyfriend?" I finished.

Jake was teary, he knelt down in front of me and hugged me the tightest hug ever.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." Jake said.
