The Male Box is a site that features amateur college-aged guys, ranging from twinks to jocks to college studs. The tour allows you to check out thumbs of all the models you can see inside the site and they say there are over 100 models. The tour also claims that The Male Box is "Now Shooting in High Definition", and since I love high definition, and don't get to see much of it, this got my attention.
The member area of The Male Box has navigation buttons on the left side of the page. That is where you will find links to Czech Boys Monthly, a third party bonus site, the FAQs page, and the links. It also says that an amateur webcam is coming soon. On the right side of the page are the first 9 models, listed by name and thumb, links to the other model pages and at the very bottom of the page is an advertising banner. I didn't see dates for when each update is added nor anything telling us how often the site updates.
There are 101 sets inside The Male Box, many with videos. It's impossible to tell which models have both pics and videos and which only have pics without clicking the thumb and going to the page. Something else I noticed was that in most cases there is no profile of the models - just the pics and vids.
While there are less than the claimed 100 models inside the member area, there is still a good selection. All the guys seem to be under 25 years old and some are very cute. There are some models I've seen around listed here but there are lots I haven't seen, too. Most of the sets here are solo masturbation although there are a few guy/guy sets.
When you click on a model's preview thumb you are taken to the first page of his thumbnail gallery. If the model has videos or a small profile, you will find them on the upper right of the page. If the video is in clips, you will find them all listed along with the size. Some of the videos are listed in clips and some are only available as full movie downloads. Luckily the site is pretty fast so it doesn't take long for the videos to start to play.
Most of the videos at The Male Box are WMVs, which are my favorite movie format. The older videos are predominantly ASFs, which are similar to WMVs as they both play in Windows Media Player. For the most part the videos are shown at 320x240 and are amateur quality, streaming at between 200k and 350k. The newest videos are a big jump in quality as they are shown at just over 1000k. While most of these new higher quality videos are still shown at 320x240, they still look good when enlarged to 200%.
Most of the videos and the pics inside The Male Box are done by amateur photographers. What this means is that the lighting is imperfect, which adds a raw gritty feel which I like. A few sets are pretty dark though, and you will also notice some less than perfect camera work in some of the sets.
A lot of the pic sets are vidcaps and they are only 320x240. While vidcaps are usually lower quality than digital stills, these aren't bad quality for vidcaps, and there are often a lot of them. The pic sets that are actually digial stills are shown at various sizes but are usually pretty large. A random sampling I saved included 972x1296 sized pics and 800x1053 sized pics.
The newest video is shot in HD - and if you're not on a fast connection, expect a wait. The video looked like a good quality amateur movie but it was a pretty slow download on my 1.5 mb connection. Hopefully The Male Box will offer the HD videos in clips for ease of download - I look forward to seeing more high def videos in the future.
Something I felt could use some improvement is the FAQ page. Instead of offering links to needed players and other useful help like other sites, if you have a technical problem with The Male Box you have to send an email for help.
The Male Box is a basic site that offers a nice collection of amateur guys from 18 - 23. The site doesn't tell us much about the guys, and you can't tell from the listings which guys do or don't have video, but the videos are fast to load and you can either stream or download them. Some of the pic sets are high rez and others are vidcaps. If you're looking for a variety of cute guys in amateur videos and pics, The Male Box may have what you're looking for. Very frustrating. There was no "tour" at all. The thumbs indicated that one should click to see the enlarged image; but all that happened was an instant switch to the "Join Now" page, every time.
Could be interesting, IF there were some actual scenes, or enlargements. But as things stand now, it looks as if all they want is to grab the cash.
