review of Swift Maverick, 2010-07-29

Swift Maverick centers around Sam Swift and Johnny Maverick, two Canadian dudes with a taste for breaking in inexperienced amateur guys. Just a quick look at the episode previews has me intrigued - there's scenarios including sex with a construction worker, a pizza delivery boy and a sailor, plus a missionary and even a guy in a bear suit. The tour promises access to a network of 8 additional sites and "weekly updates for each product". Sound good? Then let's take a closer look!

The Swift Maverick member's area is clean and easy to use. The navigation bar runs across the top of the page with a search box to the right so you can find whatever interests you. Oddly the episodes of the site aren't listed at the top but at the right side of the page under the latest update. The main content area has all of the latest updates, with plenty of a couple ways to sort the collection. The catch is if you sort by date, the episodes aren't in order, but after looking through most of them I found Swift Maverick has not updated since last month, which is several weeks.

There are 36 episodes currently at Swift Maverick, each showing off a video and photo set. The amateur guys have a variety of looks, although they all fall under a fairly manly designation, along with mostly looking to be in the 20s age group. I saw a few more strange episode concepts, like the guy with the reindeer horns, but maybe these Canadians just like to put a bit of silliness in their hardcore porn.

The individual episode pages look nice - the videos are at the top, with the gallery right underneath. There's a preview thumb, a quick description, and then a dropdown menu so that you can choose your video options. There are streaming and download sections. All of the streaming is in both flash and WMV, and you can either grab the clips or the full videos. Once you've chosen whether to watch it in a clip or full scene, you can also decide what quality to check it out with. The choices range from dial up to HD, giving you the full gamut to pick up. The downloads are laid out the same way, with the exception of only being in WMV. The HD version of the videos is very good quality, shown at 1068x600 at 4 Mbps. The other choices aren't bad either for those who aren't on super fast connections. The dial up shows at 428x240 and 500 kbps - not really suitable for dialup but good for those on slower broadband - the DSL comes in at a 640x360 @ 1 Mbps, the broadband is 852x480 and 1.4 Mbps, and the T1 is the same size as the broadband, but with a higher bitrate of 2.47 Mbps. The videos average around 30 minutes.

If you're a photo lover, we have good news for you. Instead of the vidcaps that many reality sites offer as pics, this site offers good amateur quality digital stills shown at between 533x800 and 980x800. There is a nice feature set with the galleries. You can view each set in a standard thumbnailed gallery or you can opt to use Pic Lens technology, which is a really neat way to go through photo galleries. You can also download each set as a zip file.

Since Swift Maverick itself isn't that big you'll probably want something to keep you busy after you've gone through all of the episodes. Now they are pretty good about that - you get 7 full gay bonus sites and 9 gay feeds, and the bonus sites mostly offer downloadable HD videos, too. Not all the bonus sites update weekly - 1 hasn't updated in months, but some do update weekly or periodically.

The site does have some issues, so let's talk about them. One is that if you choose a trial membership, you won't get access to all of the content, but if you choose to upgrade or let your memberhip to recur so you can see it all, it will cost you $10 more than if you had just chosen the full monthly membership. A couple more are that trial members don't get full access to everything the site has to offer and that the trials recur at $10 more per month than the cost of a monthly membership. Last, the join page has 2 pre-checked offers, so be sure and read them before you join to see if they're of interest to you.

Swift Maverick is a nice collection of gay HD porn videos featuring two big dicked Canadian guys who are ready and able to take on anything amateur guys can throw at them, and the action is all captured in beautiful HD quality. While the site isn't huge, if you're looking to download 36 high definition videos plus all the HD videos in the bonus sites, it's very possible that this site will be well worth joining for you. My advice to you - check out the tour.
