GayDemon's review of Sweet and Raw

You want hot bareback action, some exclusive movies with pics, and you want guys slightly older than your usual twink. Well, Sweet And Raw promises us both amateur guys and gay pornstars aged 21 to 33, in original movies where you never catch sight of a rubber. The site started up in 2008 and the videos are produced by Ikarus Entertainment. It's condom free bareback all the way, with hundreds of movies offered on the tour along with thousands of pics, high quality content, weekly updates and bonus access to five other bareback and hardcore sites. But does the member area measure up? Let's go see.

What you see on the tour is exactly what you'll find when you log into Sweet And Raw. The member home page features a choice of languages for the site at the top, a simple main menu that appears on every page and makes navigation easy, then comes the latest update, which actually streams on the page.

Beneath this there are additional recent scenes. Looking at the published upload dates, you'll see that a new scene is added every week, and since our last visit here two years ago, 112 new scenes have been added. That does indeed represent around one new scene a week, and there are now 175 exclusive movies. The home page also features the top scenes, latest models, and reminds you that the site is Mac and iPhone friendly.

Top of the range for resolution here are the most recent movies in Quicktime at 723 x 406 @ 3.11 Mbps, but then you also have WMV downloads at 720 x 406 at 1.64 Mbps. Testing out the 700k version I found that it didn't run so well at full screen, there was pixilation going on. Older movies have other viewing options too, such as: Other WMVs shown at 1.5Mbps at 720x480, and also 2 broadband sizes of MP4s including one at 569 x 320 @ 1.14Mbps. The movies are all full scenes of around 20 minutes, there is no DRM used and you can download all the movies in all but the streaming Flash versions.

Click to the Men and Photosets area and you come to a model and gallery index of 262 guys. They are shown with face and body shots and some basic information. But click one of the guys and you get into the individual image areas. Doing this you find links to each guy's photo sets, both solos and action, and to his videos, too. It's hard to give an exact number of photo sets for Sweet And Raw as some models had, for example, four solos sets and three action ones (and others had only one of each), but I can tell you that images are shown at sizes around 680x1200 or a little larger, but were constrained to a smaller size on the page. There were around 75 photos per set, the quality was fine, kind of mid-range I'd say, and the images were clear and focused. Each set is available in a zip file.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, but the guys here range from cute and sweet, to jock-like and a bit rough around the edges; average, amateur guys with some Goths thrown in. You're looking at variety here with some twinks for sure, but with many older and varied guys, some stocky, some beefy, but all, as promised, rubber-free. And with amateur models come some clearly amateur performances, looks to camera, not sure about what to do next, and some clumsiness.

You could say that this all helps with the reality of scenes. Meanwhile, other guys get into their stride in a more natural way and you've got some very enthusiastic tops, plenty of duos in hardcore scenes, threesomes, and many a good cum shots to savour. The bareback sessions sometimes end with internal cum shots and other times with facials and cum guzzling. The action is not disappointing.

You do ok for features and extras at Sweet And Raw: you can rate content as you view it, there are some wallpapers to download and three old bonus videos to view. The biggest bonus attraction though is the Bonus Site list where you've got access to five other gay sites from the same network, four of which are bareback sites that contain exclusive content.

I found a couple issues. There's a pre-checked cross-sale on the join pages. Watch out for the trial membership to Bulldog pit on page two of the sign up; if you leave it checked you will get a recurring monthly subscription there, too. If you want a trial to that site as well as Sweet And Raw, just leave the box checked.

Sweet And Raw gives you all kinds of guys of a certain age, 21 to 33, in hardcore bareback fuck scenes, sometimes with three guys together. The models are nicely amateur in looks and mostly preform naturally and well. You've got a neat set of viewing options as the videos both stream and download, and all the content is decent quality. The site does indeed update every week and you can access the five other bonus sites. So you get what is promised on the tour (though ‘hundreds' of videos is still a bit of a reach) and you get value for money. For ordinary guys doing extraordinary things without condoms, Sweet And Raw could be your next port of call.
