GayDemon's review of Studs Over 40

Studs Over 40 focuses on daddies, mature bears and muscle bears. The men on the tour are indeed mature and hairy, many with beards or salt and pepper hair, and there's also lots of leather, tattoos and some shaved heads. The guys are unabashedly horny and I see some pornstars including Steve Hurley. None of the models here appear to be amateurs - the tour shows well-lit content with professional camera work. While the action on the tour is definitely a turnon, the join page threw me a bit. You see, the site is part of a network of gay sites, and the sites are explained as "mainly gay porn sites that feature smooth-skinned, fresh, cute guys for the most part, although you'll find some beefy jocks". Still, the tour is hot so let's log in and check out Studs Over 40.

The member home page is easy to use. There's a description of the site, and below are links to navigate which are on tabs. Click the Videos tab for videos, the Pictures tab for pics or the DVD tab is you prefer to browse the videos by DVD rather than by scene. There are links running across the top, and bottom, but most of this is network content from other sites, and are not older or bear related. Studs Over 40 now has 42 episodes, which is 18 more than on our last visit. It's worth mentioning, however, that judging by the dates on the network update page the site has not updated in the last 5 months.

The videos here are offered in 4 formats - WMV, MPG, MP4 and streaming Flash. All formats are offered in full scenes, the largest being the WMVs shown at 720x480 with a bitrate of around 2 Mbps. These are average quality videos, some aren't as sharp as I prefer probably because they are ripped from DVDs. There are also WMV clips shown a bit smaller. The MPGs are shown at 640x480 and are just a hair lower in quality than the WMVs, and also MP4s shown at 320x240 @ 830k. All these formats and DRM-free and downloadable, but if you prefer streaming videos, the Flash vids, shown at 640x480, are actually pretty good and definitely worth watching.

At our last visit a few months ago, Studs Over 40 offered 10 pic sets. The site now offers 166 photo sets, which is quite a lot more, but some aren't of older men and seem to be the pics from the other non-mature sites. The pics are a pretty good size, shown at around 768x1024 at average quality or better with an average of 75 pics per set. Each of the 42 videos also come with a set of pretty decent vidcaps. Both pics and vidcaps can be downloaded in zip files.

The best thing about Studs Over 40 is the men. These are experienced older bears and daddies, rough and hairy, and they know exactly how to fuck a tight asshole, suck a big daddy dick and give a wet rimjob on video. There's a lot of heat in the older videos - the guys are real pigs who really are into the action and into each other. The newer videos have more older men with younger admirers in their 20s including a twink or two. If you're into older/younger sex, they could hit the spot, but they are a change from the original videos which were all older/older.

Since Studs Over 40 is part of the Gaystar Network, it isn't surprising that members get access to 14 more sites, mostly focused on twinks but some on hunks, too. You can either browse the network by site, by video scene or you can browse by DVD. The site says there are currently 1091 videos, which is a lot more than on our last visit. If you're into variety, there's definitely enough gay porn to keep you busy, but if you're looking for more older men, you will probably find the pickings here on the slim side.

Most of the issues were resolved, since they focused on the low cost trial, which is no longer offered. Now that the trial is gone, I only have 2 issues - the important one is that the site no longer seems to update. No new videos have been added in 5 months. The other issue is that when entering the tour in Internet Explorer, another site popped up in a second window. Still, the window was easy to close, so I wasn't worried about it.

Studs Over 40 delivers a mix of hairy daddies fucking and sucking other older men, older/younger action plus a few jackoff sessions. The site has 42 episodes, each with DRM-free downloadable videos. While there is a good collection of bonus material, little or none of it features bears of older men, and in fact a lot of it is twinks. If you're into hairy older men, daddies and bears, mature guys with younger guys, and don't mind smaller sites, Studs Over 40 is worth a closer look.
