Good news, porn lovers! Gay porn studio Studio 2000 has their own site. Called Studio 2000 Video, this is the place to not only watch videos from their DVDs but also auditions, behind the scenes stuff and vids of their "boyfriend material" guys. The site offers daily updates, and shows thumbs and dates added of the last 6 updates on a scrolling bar on the tour. Sound good? Then join me for a look inside the member area of Studio 2000 Video!
The Studio 2000 Video member home pag has the menu on the left. To the right is the latest update and a coming attraction, and the 6 previous updates are shown further to the right with dates. At the top of the menu is a link to the DVD store, and near the bottom of it are links to your account info and site faqs, which takes you outside the member area and requires you to click through an age verification page before taking you to the faqs, which is basically the support page.
Studio 2000 Video said they update every day. Well, they don't keep a list of all the updates with dates, but they do show the last week of updates, and there is one update for every day of the week. Today's update is a pic set of black pornstar Marc Williams and yesterday's is an audition video featuring porn guy Jay Renfro. The four updates before that are DVD scenes and the update a week ago is a pic set.
There are over 150 DVD scenes here as well as 23 behind the scenes videos and 34 audition videos. The videos are offered in WMV format and shown at 320x240 with a bitrate of 539k. At their original size, the videos look good, but if you go full screen, expect a noticeable loss of quality. The best option if you're like me and want bigger videos is to enlarge the vids to 200%. There's a little loss of quality, but nothing major. The videos play smoothly and have good sound.
There are a couple things you should know about the Studio 2000 Video movies. One is that they cannot be downloaded. The other is that the site uses DRM, which means that Mac users cannot play the videos. I ran into an issue with the DRM when I tried to play videos without closing my Media Player between videos. When I would try and open a new video while another was playing, the license form would pop up and say that the license was delivered and to click play, but the play button wasn't clickable. If that happens to you, just close your Media Player and then click the video link again and it should work fine.
In addition to the videos, there are a good amount of pic sets inside the site. You can find the pic sets by going to the MODELS section, where you can also find profiles of the guys. There are more pics in the MOVIES section. The pics are good quality and fairly large, shown at around 667x1003. The catch is that the pics have a very very faint but huge watermark across the middle. It's so faint that at first I wondered if there was a faint shadow on the model I was looking at.
Studio 2000 Video has two full month membership options as well as a trial. The Basic Membership is a reasonable $19.95 and includes access to all the site content. The Premium Membership costs $10 more per month and includes a monthly Studio 2000 DVD sent to you in the mail. This is no doubt only for people who live in locations where receiving the DVDs are legal.
The site also has another incentive - reward points. For every dollar members spend, they get 1 reward point. For every 35 reward points, members can watch a VOD video and for every 200 points, they can receive a free DVD. It's like frequent flyer miles, but you can stay home to use 'em.
Studio 2000 Video has a good sized collection of hardcore gay videos, very hot and horny performers and daily updates. They also have behind the scenes and auditions videos, which I love to watch. The videos, although on the small side, look pretty good. It's worth noting, however, that the vids are not downloadable and use DRM. Still, the basic membership is only $19.95 and for a site of this site, that's a good deal. If you're a fan of Studio 2000 videos or just like gay porn and behind the scenes stuff, Studio 2000 Video is definitely worth checking out!
