GayDemon's review of Sergeant Sodomy

Here's a reality site that is also a uniform site. Sergeant Sodomy is a uniformed man who searches the woods for guys who are trespassing, littering or otherwise breaking the law. When the Sergeant finds them, he laws down the law in his own style. Each miscreant can choose an expensive ticket and a trip to court or they can be taught a lesson Sergeant Sodomy style! And just in case you can't guess what form that style of punishment takes, it activities that can't be put in a movie without an X rating.

When you log into Sergeant Sodomy, the first things you will see are not site content - they're bonus sites. 36 of them. These are followed by 5 banner ads before we get to the content. Next comes the episodes followed by links to more bonus content and a sex toy store and finally a link to support.

There are currently 25 videos inside Sergeant Sodomy, each including both video clips and pics. Interesting enough, most of the episodes listed on page 2 are the same guys listed on page 1 except for the last one - Josh. In fact, except to make the site look bigger, I can't figure out why they didn't put Josh on the member home page and just skip page 2 altogether.

The 300k videos are actually only about 215k and are shown at either 320x240 or 420x280. What this means is that they're smallish and just below average quality. While they don't look bad, if you attempt to go full screen, expect blurry videos. Another issue is that sometimes the videos don't play as smoothly as they could, possibly due to either bitrate or frame rate issues. The sound varies a great deal, some videos so quiet I had to turn my sound way up while others are normal or even on the loud side.

In addition to the 300k clips, each video comes with 2 more speeds - 150k and 56k . The 150k vids really are around 150k with a screen size of 300x200. If you're on slower broadband or IDSN, or you're on dialup but are very patient, I'd definitely go with the 150k clips over the 56k clips. The 56k vids are actually around 32k, which is low even for dialup. They're shown at around 240x160 so these are definitely clips only suitable for dialup users.

Each video comes with a set of pics. These are, disappointingly, vidcaps, and only average quality vidcaps, at that. Shown at around 600x400, they are offered in thumbnailed galleries with no zip files or slideshow offered. The gallery pages show each thumb clearly, but offers no site navigation except a link back to the home page.

Full monthly members of Sergeant Sodomy get access to a pretty good-sized collection of bonus content. There are 36 bonus sites at the top of the member home page and 33 at the bottom. Of these 69 bonus sites, 2 are uniform-themed: Dudes In Uniform and Gay Military Pass. The rest run the gamut of niches from hunks to twinks to big cocks to bears. The bonus videos page has pretty much the same feeds listed, but at the very top of the page are links to Bonus Pics and Mpegs. The Mpegs are actually a handful of gay WMVs and the pics are 72 galleries of non-exclusive hardcore and solo male pic sets.

Interestingly, on the popup player that contains the tour trailers, there's a quote that says "I like the fact that it's updated regularly unlike a lot of sites I've seen online - thanks." Why is this interesting? Because Sergeant Sodomy doesn't update, and hasn't for some time.

I do have a few other issues here. One is that there are 2 prechecked offers on the join page of Sergeant Sodomy. Another is that trial members do not get access to most of the content here, and still another is that the trial rebills at a full $10 a month more than the month costs if you join for the full month in the first place.

I'm a big fan of reality sites, so I found some things to like about Sergeant Sodomy. I like the concept of the site, and guys in uniform acting more or less like law enforcement officials are always a plus - even better when done in a reality format. I'd have preferred bigger, better quality videos, though, and digital stills instead of vidcaps. Another problem here is that the site doesn't update, so 25 episiodes isn't a disaster, it's not exactly a large collection. Full members also get access to over 60 bonus sites of various gay niches.
