GayDemon's review of Real Men Real Hot

Real Men Real Hot got an extremely mixed reaction from two of our reviewers. It's a site with exclusive content shot by a guy who really knows his way around a camera. The models are hot, the action - which is often more about posing than sex or masturbation - is leisurely, the site updates weekly and the videos are downloadable. Those are the good points. On the down side, the appearance and especially the navigation of the site are confusing and uninformative - I was unable to easily find a join link (I found it by clicking downloads), and the join page is confusing.

The member area is very similar to the tour, and there's one thing you might want to know as at first it makes it appear that the site is basically broken, but it isn't. You can't see preview thumbs of the models in either the tour or member area without mousing over the area with the model's name on it.

There are currently approximately 42 full videos inside Real Men Real Hot. These are offered in embedded Flash vids, shown at 640x340 at average quality, and in downloadable WMVs that are shown at 320x240 at 521k. I preferred the downloadable videos, which don't use DRM, but they are smaller and lose some quality when viewed full screen. The Flash videos vary in quality, some apparently being much higher in bitrate than others, but on the other hand they do look better at full screen than the WMVs. Some of the Flash videos are apparently HD, but since the player shows them at 640x340, you have to go full screen if you want to see them big. One other issue here is that the Flash videos aren't true streaming, so you must wait till the videos are fully loaded to fast forward or rewind.

The pics are on the small side - approx 400x600 or smaller - and are fairly good quality. While some are offered on pages with a feature allowing you to tilt all the thumbs - not very useful - it would be more helpful to offer the pics in downloadable zip files.

One important issue with the videos and pics is that the site lists each video clip as if it were a full video and each page of a gallery as if it were a full gallery. That makes it difficult to get a full count of the content, and also means you will have to download several videos if you want the full scene - and sometimes you'll have to figure out which video clips actually go together to make one full scene.

If this were a review of only the content inside Real Men Real Hot, they would get a much higher rating. Although the content isn't offered in a convenient way or at high quality, the men and the content are what I'd consider very good amateur quality. The thing is that this is a review not only of the content but also of the site as a whole, and unfortunately the usability of this site is very poor. That means that for some readers, you'll have to make a choice that you shouldn't really have to make - whether to join the site and deal with the counter-intuitive navigation, weird organization and videos and pics that aren't as good as they could be. And if you like what the site has to offer, the price is right and it could be very much worth joining if you have patience.

The bottom line is that Real Men Real Hot has well-shot erotic content that is exclusive to the site. The men are indeed hot, and smaller versions of the video are available to download with no DRM used and all the updates are dated. The downside is the appearance, organization and navigation of the site. It's not at all intuitive or user-friendly, but if you spend some time with it, you'll get the hang of it. While the site does update weekly, some of the updates aren't what you might consider full updates - sometimes they are improvements of videos already in the site or are several clips rather than a full scene. And one more thing you might want to know is that there are some straight as well as gay porn videos in the site, and also some videos/pic sets that have no nudity. While the type of content is a mixed bag, and site organization makes you work for it, if you like the models, ambience and lighting you'll see on the tour, I think you'll like the content you find at Real Men Real Hot.
