Prime Guys is a site dedicated to guys over 35, or "in their prime", as it says on the tour. The site offers access to pics and videos, personal ads and a magazine, and the free section offers access to a forum. The tour also has a link to "Cinema" that leads to pay per view videos and there's a link to the "Prime Shop" that actually leads to a standard toys and DVD site. One thing worth mentioning is that the 3 month subscription price on the join page is incorrect - the real 3-month price is lower.
Prime Guys navigation is simple enough but the site could be better organized. For example, you can easily see the videos section, called Prime Cinema, is listed on the main page, but it's listed in the pics section. What looks like an ad for personals on the left side of the page is actually a free feature as long as you create a profile. What I think I see is a small site trying to seem bigger than it is. But the site DOES have stuff to offer - let's take a look at the content now.
There are currently 35 photo sets plus 11 small sets of user-submitted pics. The photo sets are broken up 6 small categorized sections. One, called Feature Guys, has profiles of each of the 6 guys listed there. But the truth is that I found several pic sets throughout the site that are of pornstars or webstars, and the site owners made up both names and profiles for them. My favorite was of gay porn superstar Michael Brandon, because they named him Oliver - but he's not the only one. In fact, I'm fairly sure I saw a guy who is not only a pornstar but also a director in the Feature Guys section, and Calvin - seen in many sites - is called Leo.
The pics here vary in quality from low-average to average. They are mostly shown around 400x600, although some are as small as 435x400. One of the reasons for the various sizes of pics is that someone has cropped the pics so that they are not their original dimensions. Some of the sets offered slideshows, but I didn't find any zip files.
As far as I can tell, and the site doesn't make it easy to figure this out, what they call a scene is what the rest of us call a clip - and in most cases, we're talking about clips that are either 1 or 2 minutes long, so it would take 5 or more "scenes" to make an actual full scene.
It's hard to be sure, but there seem to be 15 videos inside Prime Guys. All the ones I found are in AVI format, although most are marked Quicktime or WMV. The videos are shown at between 320x240 and 480x360, and are mostly offered in short clips of between 1 and 2 minutes. Quality varies between good amateur and average, and sound is fairly good although I found a video that needed to be turned down. All the videos are downloadable, and there's no DRM used.
While the site doesn't offer that much in the way of pics and videos, what it does offer is free access to a personals site. While they refer to the personals as Prime Connect, they are actually the member area for a site called I Need A Man 911. And it could be worth checking out - I found 316 guys in my area. Prime Magazine, another site feature, offers 7 articles on topics like online dating, coming out in the workplace and being a better cock sucker. And one of the articles - Jolly "Gay" Old London - is actually not only found in Prime Magazine, but is currently the only thing to be found in the Prime Travel section.
There are issues at Prime Guys, but some reflect a lack of experience from the webmaster rather than any deeper issues. They are trying too hard to make the site seem bigger than it is instead of allowing for natural growth to lead it where they want it to be. There are 2 pre-checked email boxes on the join page, so if you don't want to receive regular emails, you might want to untick those before joining. Most of the claims on the join page are rather exaggerated, as most of the features aren't very developed, yet.
Is Prime Guys worth joining? Well, members do get free access to a personals site that does deliver. There's some interesting reading on a variety of topics, although there's no sex stories. While there isn't that much content, the 15 or so videos are downloadable in clips and there are 35 pic sets plus 11 member-submitted sets. What I didn't see is dates on the content or the latest updates, so it's hard to know when or how often this site updates. The bottom line - while Prime Guys is not a site for everybody, if you like what you see on the tour, and you'd like access to the personal ads, Prime Guys is worth checking out.
