GayDemon's review of Pain Lessons

Today we're re-visiting a BDSM and fetish site we first saw last year. It's called Pain Lessons and judging by the tour it has a very nice mix of bondage, fetish and punishment. There's some very nice dungeon equipment here, and the guys using it have obviously had a lot of experience. There's canings that leaves marks, lots of leather, cock and ball torture, candle wax - you get the picture. This is our third visit, and the site hasn't really grown - it offers 17 videos and 18 pic sets,just one more of each than there was 14 months ago. Other things haven't changed, either - navigation is simple and the content - well, the content is fucking awesome!

There are a couple important things to note about this site. One is that although the dates on the updates show that the site adds a new video approx 4 times per month, the site has not grown larger. For that matter the dates on the video make it seem that the site didn't even exist a year ago - even though we reviewed it far longer ago than that. It's possible that the site rotates videos in and out, so that whenever they add a video, they delete another, but if that's the case, they don't mention it anywhere.

The other important thing about Pain Lessons is the video quality - it's very good. While you can stream the movies, if you're a patient person on a fast internet connection, do yourself a favor and download the WMVs. These are quite simply the best quality videos I've ever seen on the web - and I'm not exaggerating. The videos are shown at 720x576 with a bitrate of around 6.3 Mbps. That is close to genuine DVD quality, and better quality than some of the HD videos on the web. If you enlarge these to full screen, there is no loss of quality at all - the movies stay sharp and clear.

Oh, one more thing about the downloadable movies - they do NOT use DRM. If you decide to add these vids to your personal collection, they'll keep playing long after your membership is a thing of the past. In fact, if you're looking for good BDSM videos to add to your collection, being able to save the videos and watch them later could make the site worth joining even without updates.

For those who aren't into waiting - and the full videos that I downloaded are over 800 Mb a piece - there are 2 options. One is to download the WMV clips, which are the same size and quality as the videos but, being clips, are shorter and won't make you wait as long to download. The other is the streaming Flash version of the videos. The Flash videos are shown at 430x220, and although that's not very tall, the movies are good quality and play a lot more smoothly than I usually see. And assuming you're on a good broadband connection, you won't have to wait for them.

Pain Lessons offers big pics, too. Shown at around 800x1200, these pics are good quality and can be downloaded in a zip file. There are plenty of closeups of all sorts, and the pics capture the dark ambience of the dungeon. The photographer knows what he's doing as he captures the action perfectly.

The guys of Pain Lessons seem to be amateur euro guys who know how to give - or take - a lot of pain. Most of them are average when it comes to appearance, but the action here is hot. There's some really good bondage, spankings and a wide variety of painful punishment as well as some hardcore fucking and sucking. And since the guys here are european, there's also plenty of uncut cocks.

Pain Lessons offers variety when it comes to their shoots. I saw suspension, tight bondage, cock and ball torture using weights, blindfolds, double dildos, guys tied in very uncomfortable positions. And when it comes to corporal punishment, there were spankings, paddlings and canings - and lots of red asses. There are also some less BDSM-oriented shoots that revolve around fetish, some bondage and sex.

It's probably worth mentioning that navigation around the member area of Pain Lessons is simple and intuitive. There are no misleading links, no banner ads or DVD sales, no personals. While I'm not crazy about sites that only allow you to navigate one page at a time, it wasn't a big problem. Also members get access to 7 more sites, some gay and some tranny, and these are exclusive sites from the same network.

Pain Lessons is on the small side but the site still has some things going for it. One is the action - real pain, spankings, canings, breath control and quality bondage. There's also some sex, assplay, candle wax. Men dominating slaves and lovers. Then there's the video quality, which is sure to make you happy - and since the vids are downloadable and use no DRM, whatever you save is yours to keep. That's a good thing since the site doesn't appear to update - it has only 1 more video and 1 more pic set since our last visit. The pics also deliver when it comes to size, quality and photography that focuses on what you'd like to see. And the bonus sites give members more videos to watch and download, although they aren't BDSM sites. If you're into very high quality videos of bondage, fetish and punishment, and you don't mind that it's a small site that doesn't update, I definitely recommend you check Pain Lessons out.
