GayDemon's review of Naked Straight Lads

Naked Straight Lads is another entrant into the straight guys niche. My first glance at the tour showed some models I've seen before and others I hadn't. Both solo and hardcore sets are shown on the tour including twink twosomes and a threesome. Naked Straight Lads says they update tthrice a week, and to judge by the dates the content was mostly added, I'd say this is a very new site. Some of the 18 - 21 year old models lok yummy and the movies appear to be DVD scenes. Sound good? Then join me for a look at the member area!

The member menu is on the left side of the member home page. On the right side is site news followed by thumbs from the latest updates and the coming attractions for the next few updates. At the bottom are a contact and billing support link and some other stuff. There are a few things that stood out for me. The first news item says they are bringing 5 bi lads for a shoot. Call me crazy, but I think a site with the term "straight lads" in the title should be featuring straight guys, not bi. I also see that there are no videos listed in the latest updates or coming attractions. I notice three sections that show what other members like: Voting Results, Favourite Sets and Favourite Images - and please note that there is no favorite videos link.

There are currently a little over 100 pic sets inside Naked Straight Lads, most solo but there is some hardcore in there, too. You can browse the sets in the order they were added to the site or alphabetically. The preview thumbs are large and well-cropped to give you a very good idea of what the model looks like. Each set is also listed with some info - date added to the site, name of model, description and the number of pics in the set.

If you love browsing pic galleries, I gotta tell you that the thumbs on these galleries are great! The're bigger than almost any thumbs I've seen on a gallery and they're also good quality and clear, which makes it a real pleasure to browse the pics. Pics themselves vary from set to set, but most are nice and large and good quality and fall somewhere between 664x1024 and 960x1280. Pic quality is good and photography quality is good amateur quality., and members can vote on their favorite pics or sets.

There are only 12 videos inside Naked Straight Lads. These are DVDs from videos, and strangely although the box cover is there for each video, only one scene per DVD is offered rather than all the scenes from each DVD. These movies are offered in MPG format at a screen size of 320x240, and one of these - called Bi Accident - is the lowest quality non-dialup MPG I've seen in ages - maybe literally years. Don't get me wrong - you can make out the action easily enough, but expect blurring and artifacting that grows worse if you enlarge the video to full screen. The other movies I watched were okay quality, although they were nothing to write home about, and of course 320x240 is pretty small if your screen resolution is 1024x768.

I'm not a fan of MPGs. Most of us have to wait till they are fully downloaded to watch them, which is a pain in the ass. Too bad this site didn't elect to go with WMVs, especially since they don't offer their movies in clips. The download speeds were on the slow side, which made me wish even more that the videos were WMVs.

Naked Straight Lads also offers members the ability to search their content by model. There are a couple other features, too. There's a collection of gay stories including some "straight guy" stories. There is also a section to submit your own photos plus a Members Photos section. Unfortunately there aren't any photos there yet.

There are only 3 real issues I have with Naked Straight Lads. One is the videos - they're small and they're MPGs. Some are also low quality. Offering WMVs at a bigger screen resolution would be nice. Also there's the price. I find it quite high for the amount of content the site offers. For $29.95, I'd at least like to see some bonus sites. I'd also like to see model profiles and bios on the model pages linked to from the model index. The last issue? Some of these so-called UK twinks aren't actually from the UK - they're from the US.

Naked Straight Lads offers a collection of just over 100 pic sets of mostly solo horny twinks. The pics are hot but I've seen some of the sets on other sites. The videos are average to low quality DVD scenes offered in MPG format at 320x240. These didn't seem to really relate to the pic sets - they didn't have the same type of cute amateur twinks or the same feel to them. The one thing to watch out for here is the price, but if it doesn't bother you, check out the models on the tour. If you haven't seen them before and you want to see them in action, there's a good chance that you're going to like Naked Straight Boys.
