review of Muscle Thong, 2010-07-29

Muscle Thong is a somewhat focused and very tailored web site, devoted to showing muscular guys wearing such things as jock straps and thongs - a recent and almost unlikely fashion development which has crept into the lexicon of hot male style. Bruising guys - big and buffed - some of them remarkably chiseled bodybuilders mix with a few more "normal" but still-extremely masculine types who all model thongs, jock straps and revealing underwear from a variety of angles and in a variety of settings.

The emphasis in this small site is definitely on the bodies of the guys, especially since they are basically modeling underwear. It's essential asset is a fairly charming camera operator/director who brings some honesty of purpose and an obvious relish for his niche into the game. He also has a most definite boot fetish, which gets highlighted early and often, with guys sporting long, thigh-high fishing boots which come nearly up to the things they sport. Others model themselves and their fabulously-muscled bodies in cowboy boots, which they are instructed to caress and talk about.

The strengths of Muscle Thong are here - where the participants take part in what is a highly personalized sexuality and fetish interest developed by our man behind the camera. The dialogs are actually sexy and interesting and the compliance of the models is impressive. Ironically, for a site so personalized, it has the broader appeal of featuring some incredibly impressive muscle men. That they wear those brief small thongs which feature asses far more than cocks is interesting as well. There were only three videos where we could actually see a naked cock. But every show had a different set of underwear and most had some boots featured prominently. For ass lovers, there are some true visual feasts here, with long looks and spread cheeks. These guys have universally gorgeous asses.

Navigating the site could not be much easier. There is honestly pretty much only one or two "buttons" to push. After entering, the 14 episodes dealing with 10 different guys is laid out on the only real page of the website. By clicking on the model, we're immediately taken to his video page, some of which automatically run. In terms of updates, it is pretty well impossible to tell but one would have to be hopeful they are coming. There is promise here, just not much content.

The videos are in Flash format, playing in an embedded player and expandable to full screen. The clarity is average at best, particularly on Full Screen Mode, and the sound is good. As the videos unfold, buffering takes place and, once intact, one can scroll to anywhere on the video. The videos are not offered for download.

The video page in 11 of the 14 episodes also has a "gallery" option - pictures - along with the streaming video. Only one of the guys has as many as 100 pictures devoted to the episode, while others range from 12 to 57. The pictures unfold in the same window and are approximately 640 x 480. There are no larger pictures anywhere. The picture quality is average and are not downloadable.

Please note, as well, that the Muscle Thong tour starts a video automatically, thus filling your speakers with sound. For those who prefer privacy when viewing due to roommates, spouses or co-workers, bear this heads-up in mind, please.

This is a totally unique site, at least in my experience. For those who like men in thongs, you have to salute the innovative approach in providing such a nice retinue of thong-wearing hunks. They are definitely hot. The purity of purpose I mentioned at the start is truly a highly recommendable strength. There is some charm in the dialogs and the action in the videos themselves, but that strength is overwhelmed by the current challenges the developers face in making the site overall more professional. In my opinion, they have a relatively great idea and their content is most definitely interesting. However, any recommendations I might give would hold some reservations due to the size and quality of the site, and the lack of information given regarding updates. And, having said that, I am interested to see if they stay with it and develop it further. It does have promise.
