GayDemon's review of Male Spectrum Pass

Gay porn networks are both a blessing and a curse at times - the blessing comes from the sheer amount of porn that they offer, while the curse is often a downfall of the quality, the usability, or a combination of both. Male Spectrum Pass is a new gay porn network to market, and with claims of 867 network episodes it looks like they have a lot to offer, including downloadable reality porn videos in HD. Let's log in and take a closer look.

Things start off great - the main member's page is sweet and simple. The main navigation is right across the top of the page, and the main page shows off top rated updates, latest updates, links to various network sites, and a few unobtrusive ads. There is also a great search function that allows you to look through the collection by keyword or model name.

The Reality Sites link is where you find all the relevant bits of the network. There are eight gay sites here, with niches covering college sex parties, amateurs, big dicks, first timers, muscle, twinks, facials, and good old fashioned hardcore fucking. There isn't anything really fetishy here, so thi network is better off for those of you that have more mainstream tastes in porn. Six of the eight sites seem to be updating fairly regularly - the other two haven't been touched since 2006.

Unlike many networks, Male Spectrum Pass makes it painless to look at one site or another - it doesn't prompt you for a login or make you jump through hoops, it just works. The first network site I took a look at was Gay College Sex Parties. The setup is very plain, but that's not a big deal as long as the content looks good. There are 102 episodes consisting of a video and photo set. The oldest videos are streaming only, clip only, and a rather horrible 320x240 and 542kbps wmv or mov. Over time it seems they have improved greatly. The latest videos offers both clip and full scene downloads in Flash and WMV. The video size and quality have improved to 852x480 and 1.47 mbps, although the video itself could look a bit better with a smidge more lighting.

The other sites were pretty much the same - the oldest videos weren't that hot, but all of the new ones are downloadable and greatly improved in quality. There are 16 episodes at Rookie Guys, 227 at His First Gay Sex, 233 at His First Huge Cock, 61 at Hot Muscle Dudes, 127 at Twinks for Cash, 62 at Gay Blind Date Sex, and 40 at His First Facial. It looks like their tour episode numbers are rather accurate. It looks like they update one gay network site every week.

The photo sets are 150 photos or more and 800px on the long side. One neat thing about the photos, other than the fact that they are not vidcaps, is the fact that they use PicLens technology. You don't see that too often.

Male Spectrum Pass doesn't skimp on the extras - the bonus content section has 9 gay third party feeds which seem to end up touching on a slightly broader range of niches - there are bears, Asians, and Latinos in here among others. I wouldn't bother taking a look at the bonus network section though, unless you're really after some ads.

All in all, Male Spectrum Pass is a solid gay porn network that will suit many tastes as long as they don't get too exotic. I would have liked to have seen more frequent updates, and it would be nice if they would at the very least allow older videos to be downloaded, if not outright bringing them up to speed with the other videos they have now (if possible). The site itself is very easy to use, and a working search function is always a plus. If you're looking for more bang for your buck, then this 8 gay site network might just be what you're looking for.
