GayDemon's review of Hot Gay Flix

At first glance, Hot Gay Flix is the kind of site we used to see years ago. There are some large numbers and claims, but no specifics. Even on the join page, where one might usually expect to see video formats and an update schedule, the claims - 85,000 pics and 35,000 videos - seem more designed to wow than to inform members of what to expect inside the member area. It does say that you can download the videos for your cell phone and watch live feeds, so let's head off to the member area and take a closer look at Hot Gay Flix.

The member home page is divided into 4 sections - Hardcore Galleries, Video Libraries, DVDs & Adult Fun and Photo Galleries. The page simply lists by section, and while it is clean and very easy to navigate, not much of the content resicdes on the Hot Gay Flix server. Most of this content is feeds and bonus sites, although the 3 page Gay Art Gallery, the 3 page Hot Transexuals gallery are self-hosted. It is worth mentioning that all pages and feeds have a big "main menu" button on the upper left side so you can always get back, and that there are small ad banners at the very bottom of the page. The only live feed is a button at the bottom of the page that leads to a feed requiring payment if you want to see nudity or action.

There are 2 reality sites listed in the Hardcore Galleries section, as well as a straight gangbang feed, a gay black feed, group sex feed, plus guys jerking off and a blowjob feed. There's a bareback reality site, 4 video feeds, a tranny feed and a link to a gay ezine under Video Libraries and listed under DVDs & Adult Fun is a feed with 6 older gay DVD titles, a transsexual DVD feed with 23 DVD titles and some assorted gay feeds with interactive content. Last in this section is a live chat, where at 6 PM PST I found only a single user in the 4 chatrooms.

While the reality sites are pretty good stuff - I've seen them before and I like them - they're on the smaller side and at least one of them doesn't update. I was a little surprised not to find more reality sites since the producer of the ones that are listed actually offer a bunch of them as a package. While a few of the feeds here have pretty good sized videos, many are older and show videos at 320x240 or even smaller, and are average quality at best. Also some include ads for various products and sites.

Hot Gay Flix isn't likely to satisfy the experienced porn surfer or those on fast DSL or cable connections, possibly those new to porn and into variety or guys who are on slower broadband or dialup may find something slightly intersting. I didn't find any premium live feeds nor did I find downloadable videos as claimed on the join page.
