Gay Movies has a huge tour packed with thousands of DVD titles. These DVDs can be browsed almost any way you can think of - by title, category, studio, pornstar, director, most popular, recently added and top rated. There are all sorts of gay porn categories ranging from bareback to twink to reality porn. There are also award winners, classics, ethnic - this place has a lot of categories. How does this site work? When you find a DVD that looks hot, you can pay by the minute or else "rent" the DVD. This is a good option if you don't want to risk rebills on your credit card or just want to get off without having to pay for a subscription.
Gay Movies has some features I really liked. You can create your own playlists by combining scenes from various movies - for example, you could find 5 scenes with your favorite pornstar and put them all together in a playlist so you can just watch them one after another. Or you can click the "Make Your Own Movie" link and watch any of the public playlists. You can also get recommendations by rating videos - once the system can compare what you rated higher or lower, it can recommend videos that others with your tastes liked.
Another feature I liked isn't as high-tech. You'll find it by clicking the I'm Feeling Lucky link, and what it does it take you to some random movies. You can do it again and again or click the random movies link. If you're not sure what you want to watch, or you want something totally new, you'll probably like I'm Feeling Lucky.
There are plenty of DVD titles on Gay Movies - over 3000 of them, which means over 10,000 scenes. Each DVD is offered in WMV format and comes in at least 2 sizes. Many of the vids I watched the best quality option was called 1 Mb. These videos actually have a bitrate of around 1.3 Mbps and most look good. The catch is that although the 1 Mb vids are 480x360, the embedded player they play in restricts them to 320x240, so users have the option to either watch them smallish or go full screen, and 1.3 Mbps loses some quality at full screen.
Some of the older videos also aren't available in 1 Mb - they're offered in 2 sizes, the better of which is called High Speed. This is also shown at 320x240, but with a lower bitrate of around 512k. These lose a lot more quality at full screen.
What is cool about the videos here are that they are the full DVD titles, so you can watch everything including the stuff that gets left out on other sites. And you can fast forward or rewind without having to wait for each video to load, which means you can either get to the cumshot, the next scene or watch something again immediately.
In addition to the pay per minute viewing options, Gay Movies users can click the Downloads link and choose between iPod porn rentals, DivX rentals, and bigger better downloadable WMVs. The downloadable WMVs are bigger, shown at 640x480 and you can either rent or "Download to Own". If you're looking for the better vids, they are in the download section, but they can't be watched by the minute. Go figure!
Gay Movies also has some incentives. You can get a free 15 minute phone sex session or a free video clip if you sign up for 200 minutes or over, plus new users can get a few free minutes with their first order. New users can also get 10 free minutes without buying any minutes, but they do have to input their credit card number, although they say it will not be charged.
Overall, I like Gay Movies. The selection, update schedule and features rock as do the search options. If you're looking for pay per view videos, this site has a lot to offer. The only issue I have with Gay Movies is the screen size the videos are shown at. It's disappointing that the newer movies are actually 480x360 but can only be watched at 320x240, which isn't all that big, or at full screen, which is too big for the videos to look sharp and clear. If they'd enlarge the vids, Gay Movies would be my hands-down favorite VOD site. As it is, it's still definitely worth checking out if you're looking for VOD rather than a subscription website.

There were a couple of things mentioned that I'd like to elaborate on:
1. screen size - if you use the embedded player you can click to watch the video at 200% or go up or down in 10% increments - this will help you find the size you like, It will also remember your setting for the next time.
2. Your credit card is never automatically billed or rebilled. You only pay for what you want, nothing hidden.
3. Something else I like - We are listening. If there is anything you want improved, changed, added - ask us. We feel that the customer is the most important part of our site. Let us know what your thinking.
