I love hairy men. Guys with beards, hairy chests and furred arms really turn me on. I love the full, masculine bodies and the "real man" attitude of most bears. Gay Bear XXX is part of a network of gay sites. When you join any site in the network, you get access to all 7 sites and 11 feeds, which is pretty cool. The tour seemed pretty tempting, so I decided to go for it.

When I logged into Gay Bear XXX, the main member page seemed pretty well organized and showed lots of content. There is a search feature on the top left, so you can search for the type of content you are looking for. Near the top of the page on the sidebar, there is access to seven different reality sites and twelve bonus feeds. The middle of the page features the main attraction - the bears.

There are two different bear sections to explore - Gay Bear XXX and Bear Patrol. I went to Gay Bear XXX first to see 10 episodes. Each episode has a photo set and a video. I took a look at the photos first - the sets are pretty big at around 250 pics each. These are digital stills, not vidcaps, which is always nice to see! Another neat little feature they had was that they have PicLens capabilities on their galleries. Pic Lens is this neat little application that lets you view galleries in some truly crazy ways - if you have the time take a look at it! They also have zip downloads, and the pics are amateur quality at 533x800.

The videos are listed in three different speeds - Dial Up, DSL, and Broadband. There are two different sizes, 320x240 and 640x480, however the larger size is just a larger window...the actual video is still the same size, which is a bit odd. They are streaming only, and you can choose between smaller clips and larger clips in WMV and Quicktime. The videos are around 40 minutes long, and they do look pretty good. I would have liked to have seen an actual 640 size, though. This section does not appear to update.

If you were expecting bears in the Gay Bear XXX content, you may be disappointed. Some of the guys in the 10 episodes are hairy, true - but they aren't bears. Think cubs, otters or wolves - and one guy is like nothing so much as a hairy twink. What you won't find are big, burly beefy men with furry chest, body and maybe some facial hair. Of course, this surprised me less when I looked at the top of the pages and saw that the 10 "bear" episodes are actually from a big cock site.

The other bear section, Bear Patrol, takes me offsite to a third party feed. It looks like there are well over 100 videos here, broken down into 5 minute clips. The quality is pretty uninspiring, and these Real Player videos are streaming only. Navigation is a total pain here too.

The reality sites you get as a bonus are pretty entertaining, and most update every week or month. There are over 200 episodes, ranging in length from 20 minutes to around 40 each. There is a lot of variety, and I loved some of the twinks in Twinks for Cash. The Gay Blind Date Sex site was original, and you got to know the guys with interviews before they met and went on their date. The sex was a lot hotter than you usually see, probably because the guys spent some time together first. I liked all four of the reality sites a lot, and they all have a lot of sweaty gay sex, each episode concluding in a well-shot cumshot.

The videos in the reality sites are fast to load, good amateur quality, and come in two formats, windows media and Flash. They are available in five speeds - 56k, DSL, Broadband, T1, and HD. The lighting is sometimes less than perfect, but I think this adds to the vibe of the videos. The videos are available in 3 minute clips, and there is also a full video download option. The HD videos are their most recent addition to the bonus sites, and they are just impressive at 1068x600 and 4.21 mbps.

The pics for the reality sites are plentiful, and a nice addition to the videos. They are shot by a still camera while the videos are being shot, and as with the videos, the lighting is less than perfect. I really like the pics, and they shoot a lot of them. There are more than 100 pics with each video, and are laid out in galleries. There is a feed section as well in the Bonus Content tab - there are 9 feeds here, although none of them have been updated for months. They also are a random hodge podge of niches, with no bears in sight. The Marketplace section is just an area for upsells, and the only other tabs here are for customer service and site help.

Access to the seven bonus reality sites alone can keep you busy for days after joining Gay Bear XXX. I believe there are over 100 hours of video, over 20,000 pics - and then most sites update every week. The only problem, of course, is that if you came here looking for bear content, you won't find it here.

Gay Bear XXX has a couple different low-cost trial memberships, so if you're not ready to shell out for a full month without testing the content, this is a good option. Keep in mind, however, that the trial is limited - trial members will probably not get access to most of the content or bonus sites.

So if you're looking for an in to a pretty good network, this isn't bad, but if you cam to this bear site hoping for big, hairy woofy bears, you may want to look elsewhere.
