GayDemon's review of Ebony Clubz

When it comes to smut, some blokes have a sweet tooth that only dark chocolate can satisfy. If you've got an incurable, insatiable case of Jungle Fever, you're not alone - thousands of guys get off on the taut, dark bodies and long, thick cocks of black men. As long as the net has existed, there have been hundreds of sites devoted to the ebony male form; Ebony Clubz is just one of those sites. Ebony Clubz's main page looks promising, with guarantees of "regular updates," "thousands of hours of ebony vids," and "the best asses ever." But does Ebony Clubz deliver on their guarantees? There's only one way to find out!

Ebony Clubz's main page breaks the site up into seven sections, only two of which are actually hosted on Ebony Clubz's own server (never a good sign, let me assure you). You're linked to XXX Videos, Picture Galleries, Live Cams (a list of multiple external cam sites), Games, "Sex Finder" (really just a link to the hook-up site Fling.com), a Sex Shop (again, hosted on an external server), and Ebony Clubz's Bonus Sites (18 additional niche video sites, none of which are exclusively ebony in content). The main page also showcases the site's top five highest member rated video clips and gives you the option of checking out an external bonus video site, "Deep Chocolate." The Deep Chocolate page is a disappointment - all you'll find there is a single poorly dubbed video that's been split up into scenes and streams in WMV or Quicktime.

The videos section itself is another letdown - while it may advertise a 659 DVD archive, only 46 of those DVDs are in the "gay black" section - the rest are either general gay flicks (a whopping 31 of them) or thoroughly straight affairs. DVDs can be searched by series, studio or title but can't be filtered down within the gay sections, meaning you've got to scroll though endless pages of thumbnails in the hopes that you'll find a few scenes worth a shit (only the straight section breaks DVDs up by niche). If and when you do find something worth your time, you're given the option of downloading or streaming it as multiple 800k, 570x380 WMV files. DVDs are broken up into scenes, each scene is around 10-20 minutes long, and there aren't any DRM restrictions.

The image quality and production values of these films is touch and go - some are better than others, but most are pretty goddamn bad. The lion's share of the content here comes from ancient, grainy pornos of sub-amateur quality in which black fellas either indifferently jerk off or suck each other's cocks. There are 720x544 screencap galleries that accompany each feature, helpful for intense masochists that would rather sift through blurry, poorly lit JPEGs of unwankable DVDs than watch the DVDs themselves.

The picture galleries are split up into five areas - hunks, Asians, ebony, bear and uniform. There are over one hundred galleries in the ebony section, each of which holds 20-100 pics (the number of photos in each gallery varies widely, as does image size and image quality). Photos are generally 534x800, and can't be downloaded as ZIP files or viewed as slideshows. The subject matter of most of this content is pretty tame - generally speaking, solo poses and jerkoff sessions dominate the galleries. This section is a total clusterfuck - the pics here clearly come from an enormous range of sources, and cover an enormous range of time (mostly the early to mid 90s, it seems). In sum? Lame.

As is Ebony Clubz in general - lame, lame, lame. With poor quality, non-exclusive content, very little of the ebony material a moniker like Ebony Clubz would suggest, and no regular update schedule as far as I can tell, this site is quite the stinker. While the $4.99 trial membership is somewhat reasonable, I'm not sure I'd even suggest that. If you're satisfied with a ton of not necessarily ebony content that's not necessarily of the highest quality, you may want to give it a shot - the bonus video sites cover a whole heap of niches (bi, bareback, straight, twinks, amateurs, fetish, jocks, etc) and the video section itself is ample if you've got any interest at all in straight and white bred gay porn. If you've only got eyes for black fellas, though, an exclusive all ebony site will more likely whet your appetite for onyx flesh than the sub par, misguided offerings of Ebony Clubz.
