review of Dom Boss, 2010-07-29

Dom Boss is a FemDom site, developed and run by an internationally well-known Domme in the person of Irene Boss. Based in Pittsburgh, Irene is a traveler and a rather exotic figure. She has also been at this for a while, and knows her stuff - and we are talking BDSM. Nice to look at, this fascinating dominatrix is a ruthless purveyor of her particular niche, delivering pain and humiliation to a long line of waiting males and females alike. At a glance, it's obvious that this is a busy and very active site.

The Dom Boss members area home page is actually very straightforward, but just a bit too busy. A list of the site's features includes a menu listing Videos, Images, Writings, DVD's (for sale or PPV), the Forum, and the Newsletter. There is a list below these primary menu items dealing with FAQ's, interviews with Irene, philosophies and a complete section dedicated to images of Irene herself. You definitely get the impression of Irene's strong hands-on approach to her site and to the overall society which she has established. While there are some ads on the page - noteably each listed update has a DVD for sale to the right of the description - overall the pages are easy to use. There are no dates, but the site added 5 videos last month and has added 2 so far this month - that's in addition to pic sets and stories.

I counted 63 full-length exclusive videos in the members area. The full-length videos - which seem to often be full DVDs of an hour or more - actually download fairly quickly. They are good amateur quality, shown at from 320x240 to 640x480 with a bitrate of from around 450k to 900k or better, and formats vary from video to video - I found WMVs, MP4s and Real videos. The production qualities of these videos tend to be well-lit, well-spaced and an interesting mix of candid/casual and professional. This is not scripted video whatsoever and is totally exclusive, the majority of it filmed at the Dom Boss premises. Visually, they are all fairly professionally filmed by a solo camera person who shifts perspectives and the sound quality is good to excellent. Under the full videos are trailers for the DVDs. The videos are DRM free, so whatever you download will continue to play after your membership has expired.

Dom Boss offers 135 pic sets of 20-50 apiece in the main section of photographs and another 30 under Irene's own pictures. There is another category of "Guest Doms" of which there are some 43 more sets and then a "Travel Gallery" with 10 more. The Travel Gallery and the Guest Doms sets contain over 1,500 pictures. All the pictures are individually savable but there are no zip file downloads or batch downloading available. The one disadvantage is in their size. Typically, they are rather small - generally in the 400x600px size range. Quality varies a great deal, from a little below amateur to good amateur, and some of the pic sets are actually vidcaps.

The Dom Boss "models" often include actual members of the site. These males and females are filmed while in the process of the BDSM situations and fantasies many of them asked for specifically. Irene Boss is in most of them and she represents one of the primary reasons for the model's involvement. These "models" tend to be average-looking folks, off the street or out of her membership base undergoing the CBTorture and various other fantasies she offers. She mentions that filming proceeds uninterrupted, therefore all of the pictures are screen shots, offering very candid filming but far less photographic eye candy.

And there's plenty here beside the main pics and videos. The Writings section has 170 stories, some of it extremely well-written. Fantasy and reality mix in the writings, with some bizarre and out-of-the-envelope fantasies mixing with recollections of real interactions when visiting The Compound. There is a forum, as well. This is a site which seems very user-friendly in the most intimate respects and which form a sort of fascinating picture of some very lively interactions. I want to say that "Issues abound" with this site, owing to its clustered nature. Yet, there is something about its purity that stops me. It is very dense and clustered and the video section is a bit of a mess and could be far better organized. The pictures are small relative to other sites, which is a shame because they are of great interest and even content. Navigating inside sometimes brings one to the brick wall without the ability to return, particularly when scrolling through pictures. A simple "Return To Home Page" at the bottom of all pages would be enough to make life easier.

In summary, Irene Boss herself is an interesting and talented domme, and the site's content is reasonably impressive when adding the bonus content. The downloadble full videos are DRM free and definitely deliver the BDSM experience. Apart from the navigation issues and smaller size of the pics, I would have to say that this site delivers some very direct pleasure for those who love bondage and punishment being delivered by strict and dominant females. The interactivity is a plus and the content tends to be totally in line with the site's premise and a direct result of a very focused sexual specialty. For those who admire and pursue FemDom, Dom Boss has a human interactive element which is appealing.
