review of Cruiser Boys, 2010-02-08

Cruiser Boys is a site packed with videos and pic sets of mostly amateur guys with athletic bodies. I really like this site and since our last visit 5 months ago, the tour has been improved and now offers a preview of the latest episodes and a brief look at a bunch of the models. The tour looks good, and there's a downloadable sample video offered in 3 formats. As far as their claims of straight guys, there are some very succulent samples inside Cruiser Boys, but the videos I watched were pretty well mixed with straight, bi and gay amateur models.

There are currently just over 422 exclusive videos with pic sets inside Cruiser Boys. Many include short interviews or intros but there is lots of action in every movie I watched. Getting to the main member page from the member entrance has a couple extra steps I should mention here.

When you click Members, you are taken to a page with several selections on the right - ENTER SITE (yes, you really do use it to get to the site cotent), BONUS (extra content and bonus sites for members) and FUN CHAT, but let's start off by clicking ENTER SITE. That takes you to a page where you must click the ENTER GALLERY link on the right - and voila! You are taken to a page full of links to original movies of horny guys.

At the top of the page is a nice quality preview thumb and text about the next update to the site and below that is the current update. Underneath the newest updates are all the other sets, organized by year and month. The Cruiser Boys listings start in August of 2000, so there's plenty of videos to check out. Click any month to see all the updates for that month.

Cruiser Boys has made a change in their videos recently. All the videos are now downloadable and the last 14 are offered in 3 formats and 2 of the formats - WMV and Quicktime - are available in HD (high definition). These are nice and large, shown at 1280x720 with a bitrate of over 2.5 Mbps, and they're very good quality - in fact, they look sharp and clear even at full screen. The third video format is MP4, shown at 640x360 at over 1.5 Mbps, and these are also good quality. I'm very pleased with the new videos, and can't wait till the site has more available.

Except for these newest videos, Cruiser Boys streaming videos are Quicktime and are shown on a popup which defeated my popup blocker easily. Each video is shown in several clips, and you can choose the size you'd prefer to watch - 1x is shown at a screen size of 320x256 and 2x is shown at 480x376. The videos load very quickly and have excellent sound, and they are also now downloadable in zip files. The 1x video quality is fairly good and the 2x video quality is okay, although in reality the 2x video is the same videos as the 1x vid, just stretched to fit a larger player. The 2x videos do have a little less sharpness., but I preferred them - the small loss of quality wasn't enough to really bother me and the cocks all look bigger on the 2x sized movies ;)

The videos are now all available for download. These downloadable videos are shown at 320x240 with bitrates of between 450k and 500k. They range from amateur to good amateur quality and play smoothly. The downloadable vids are offered in several clips each that come packed in a zip file.

The camcorder is handheld during the beginning of the older videos. That means there's some hand movement but it adds a very documentary style. The newer videos are steadier, so I guess experience counts. I really liked watching the videos - the guys are HOT, the closeups and masturbation were well-done and you can usually see every pulsation and squirt of the cumshots.

The pics on Cruiser Boys are pretty good sized, being shown at around 520x780, although the newest pics shown at 2 larger sizes - about 600x900 and 774x1161. They're sexy and good quality, showing off the guys and the action. In many of the photos the lighting is excellent and you can see the guys from every angle, with lots of face and dick closeups plus ass shots and even a few foot pics. I like the pics here because of the good quality photography, the quality the site shows the photos in, and the amateur models.

The BONUS link when you first enter the site takes you to a page that has added 30 bonus sites and feeds since our last visit - the site now offers 34 assorted gay feeds and sites plus a DVD archive with just over 240 full DVD titles to watch, which definitely adds value for members. When you first enter the site, you'll also see a link that says FUN CHAT. I tried the chat at several different times of day over several years and usually it's empty.

I like the changes at Cruiser Boys - the improved tour, new downloadable HD videos and much larger collection of bonus material. I'm also glad that all the videos are now available for download.
