GayDemon's review of Bulldog Pit

Bulldog Pit is a gay hardcore action site that features the content of the British-based Bulldog Productions. It promises dirty and rampant sex with filthy men and sleazy lads in gritty locations, plenty of fetish material and huge cocks. The user can expect 100s of exclusive scenes, unlimited downloads with multiple speeds and formats, real-time streaming, high quality photos and videos, and weekly updates. It's been 18 months since our last visit, so it's time to get up close and personal again with Bulldog Pit.

The home page is well-designed and straightforward. It's topped by a menu bar with links to the main content areas i.e. movies, photosets, extra footage, models and bonus sites. Below that, the latest video update is featured, followed by sections showcasing other recent updates, most viewed videos and the latest models. The Movies pages display 20 scenes at a time, all dated, starting with the most recent. Each scene has its own page, listing all streaming/download options, usually accompanied by thumbnails of photos detailing the action. The Models pages allow access to pages for individual models, where biographical information, photo sets and videos will be found.

There are 140 videos, double the 70 on our last visit. 2011 has seen consistent weekly updates every Saturday. Updating in 2010 was patchier, with only 38 over 52 weeks. The scenes come mainly from Bulldog DVDs; the actual DVDs are not identified. Production standards are good. Viewing choices, whether for streaming or downloading, are wide. Most scenes have at least 4 download options, including formats suitable for iPhone and iPad. All are DRM-free. Three streaming options for each title is the norm.

There are 128 action pic sets and 180+ solo sets of individual models. The images are good quality digital stills, not screen caps. Solo sets can range from a single image up to 25, action sets from about 40 to over 100. Older photos have a size of 1000x750, newer ones 1300x870. Every set is supposed to have a downloadable zip file, but because so many links for the zip sets are wrong, you often won't get the set you're expecting. As a result, many sets are impossible to download. Individual images can be right-clicked and saved. There are some scenes and models without photo sets.

The Models pages display 164 performers, but are incomplete; there are models in the videos who are not listed. The type of guy has changed dramatically. In the past, there was a wide range of ages and many Europeans. Now the emphasis is almost exclusively on younger British guys, mostly street-boy types. There are some genuinely huge cocks. 3 of the British guys, Matt Hughes, Tich Jones and Steven Prior have monstrous uncut members that would inspire terror (or excited anticipation) in most bottoms. Whatever their background, the other guys are pretty nicely endowed too, and a lot of that meat is uncut.

There has also been a huge change in action. The rough sex and fetish material promised is a feature only of older scenes e.g. the Lewis Quintini/Eustus Hunt and Drake/Malko pairings featuring fisting and watersports. Dildoes and other anal play have also disappeared. 2011 has seen resolutely vanilla action (sucking, fucking, occasional rimming). Gritty locations have been abandoned in favor of couches in bland apartments. Oddly, there is at least one example of fetish material that has been edited out of a scene. The footage that was billed as the ‘World's first twink double fisting', where Ashley Ryder was fisted by both Jenson Lomax and Leonardo, is unfortunately missing from the version available here.

Three exclusive bonus sites from the Cock Access network are available: Alpha Male Fuckers, Brash Boys (no longer updating) and World of Men. The tab labeled ‘Extra Footage' contains 8 mainly behind the scenes videos (no additions in 18 months) and 6 1280x960 wallpapers. There is a blog promoting each update. It's available to non-members too, but can be misleading. For example, it identifies 4 episodes as bareback. The stills suggest bare-backing; the actual videos prove otherwise.

Several issues exist. There is no way to search the content, which means it's hard to find fetish material except by accident. The lists of hyper-linked keywords found on each video page are not helpful as they're inaccurate. Navigation, while straightforward, can be slow. The ‘Next' option sometimes fails, and the system response to the Back key can be aggravating. The site only has 100s of scenes if you include material from the bonus sites.

Bulldog Pit has changed substantially since our last review 18 months ago. Most of the claims made for it are out of date and only apply to the older content. The site now concentrates on British lads engaging in vanilla sex. On offer are 140 videos, most with a good quality action pic set. Updates are weekly. The DRM-free videos are good quality, downloadable, and offered in a range of formats, including ones suitable for mobile devices like iPhone and iPad. There are some substantial websites offered as bonuses. If this sounds like your cup of tea, Bulldog Pit is worth your consideration.
