If you like skaters, surfers and straight boys, Boy Ride is the place to be! While there are a few other sites on the web with a collection of licensed so-called skater and surfer content, it's obvious at a glance that most of these are twink or frat type porn models who are told to say they're skaters. But for those of us who see real skateboarders and surfers on the streets and the beaches by our homes, we know that most of them are slender or even a little skinny with a bit of an attitude and punky or slacker looks - and so do the models at Boy Ride. So let's log into the member area and take an up close look at what they have to offer!

First things first. This isn't our first review of the Boy Ride member area, but there have been big changes since our last visit to the site. First off, the member area has a whole new look and has simplified the way the content is offered. Next, it looks like they've re-encoded all their videos and removed some - there actually seem to be a few less videos than there were 2 years ago. The videos are now offered in WMV, MP4 and Flash, one more format than on our last visit and the biggest videos are double the size they were at the time. And there's no more sections to the content - no Donovan's Dudes or other sections that broke up the site. Members now simply click the "View the Crew" link on the top or left side of the page to see all the episodes.

What hasn't changed at Boy Ride is the type of guys they focus on. Most of the Boy Ride hardcore movies get right to the action, whether it's stroking or sucking. The guys vary in type. Some have a sort of street punkish look, some are sort of hunky and some are twinks and every one seems to be horny as hell. I admit that a few didn't really come off as straight despite site claims but hey - I can live with that. For those who like interviews, both the auditions and Donovan's Dudes offer them at the beginning of the movies.

The Boy Ride movies are offered WMV, MP4 and streaming Flash. The largest videos are the WMVs, shown at 640x480 with a bitrate of about 1500k. While these aren't quite as clear as you might expect from the bitrate, they range from good amateur quality to average porn quality, and are really quite watchable. Next comes the MP4's, shown at 320x240 with a bitrate of between 700k and around 765k, and similar in quality to the WMVs. both these formats are downloadable full scenes with no DRM, which is a big plus. And for those who aren't interested in downloading the videos, there are streaming videos shown at 500x360. These start to play almost immediately and although they are lower quality than the downloadable videos, they have good sound and play smoothly. Boy Ride no longer offers videos for dialup users.

If you love pics of skater dudes, many of the episodes inside of Boy Ride do come with pics, but there's no longer a dedicated pic section. That means you must now click each episode to see if there are pics, and some of the newer episodes don't include them. The Boy Ride pics are digital stills, not vidcaps, the photos offered at a medium size and good amateur quality although you will find an occasional weird pic. There are probably arond 100 photo sets and a lot of the sets include some casual pics, which I liked. There's plenty of hard cocks in action and some 2 guy shoots.

The bio section has been removed, but each episode comes with a nice long description. Also many of the episodes include bonus videos, which is a nice plus.

I also found a few issues. One is that the updates are still not dated, which would have been a nice change. I also would have preferred bigger pics that could be saved - the Flash gallery doesn't allow it and no zip files are offered. I also miss a dedicated pic section since not all the episodes include photos.

The bottom line is that Boy Ride has some very cute boys, some very street boys and some hunky ones, as well. Many are slender, straight and the kind of guys you see skateboarding up the street or surfing at Malibu. The movies are good amateur quality and can be downloaded with no DRM. Beside the hardcore and J/O movies, there are some behind the scenes videos and bloopers. I can't tell how frequently Boy Ride Updates, but they DO update and I'm guessing about twice a month. The recent changes to the site make it cleaner and easier to use, and I definitely prefer the bigger videos. The bottom line - if you like what you see on the Boy Ride tour, and don't mind that the updates are less than weekly, the member area will not disappoint.
