The Trevor Project 24/7 suicide and crisis prevention helpline for gay and questioning youth.
Editor's Comments
The Trevor Project is based on the 18-minute film entitled "Trevor". It's about a 13 year old gay boy who attempts suicide. According to this blog though, the story is both funny as well as moving - winning an Acadamy Award for the best short motion picture of 1994. The Trevor crew were given permission to set up a helpline to run in conjunction
with the HBO screening of this most realistic of movies. Thus, the Trevor Helpline was born. To date, over 100 000
calls have come in and saved many a confused and desperate young soul. If you are interested in getting involved
with helping these young folks, you can head over to "Volunteer" and learn what you can do. Or, if you've got a few
extra bucks and feel like helping with the costs of running such a wonderful organization, click on "Donate". This is a
fair sized site and the best thing for you to do is go on over and have a look for yourselves. It really is a good cause
and truly shows us that there is some hope for mankind after all.
