What is.. vintage porn?
Vintage porn refers to adult movies and photos that were created long enough to go as to be considered classic or old school. Generally this refers to porn from the 1960's, 70's and 80's but sometimes also refers to porn from the early 1990's and from times prior to 1960.
History
Porn, as we know it, has been around for as long as photography although even hundreds of years ago, depictions of sexual acts were found. Some of the most famous include the Kama Sutra and collections of Japanese erotic art. In the 1800's, pornographic photos, admittedly sometimes mild by today's standards, were sold privately. By the 1940's and 50's, pornography was not legal in the United States but there were people trying to find their way around the laws. !940's and 50's pornography are often referred to as vintage porn where porn from the 1960's through the 1980's are referred to as classic or vintage porn. Sometimes also referred to as retro porn.
Practice
Any adult material produced prior to 1990 can be referred to as vintage and some is even collectible and goes up in value depending on the fame of the stars, quality of the prints, etc. Vintage porn is becoming more popular as more and more is being transferred to digital media.
