About

While still listed in the ICD-10, it is no longer listed in the DSM-IV.

The move is to be less gender biased, to better define the addiction, or disorder, without needing to comment on gender.

The actual threshold, of where one's sexual drive is considered excessive, is widely open to debate.

Some professionals question, even if such a threshold can exist, given how widely diverse people are, along with outside influences.

Practice (Associated Acts): There are other factors, that can influence the sexual drive of a person, that include other mental conditions.

Alzheimer's is one such mental disorder, than can play a role in a person's increased sexual drive, or their impotency or lack of such a drive.

Noteworthy: The debate rages, on what is exactly a hyper sexual drive. What may be considered normal for some, might be considered excessive by others, and vice versa, which creates the confusion among professionals.

There are also other factors, that impact a person's sexual drive.

Bi Polar persons for example can have extreme fluctuations of their sex drive, from where some may consider it excessive at one point, minimal at other times, or even normal at some points.

Influence of drugs, whether legal or not, can also influence the sexual drive of a person, again making the distinction difficult to arrive at.
