What is deviant?
A person who violates the cultural & social norms for behaviour in a particular society.
Definition
A Deviant does not always apply to one's sexual behaviour.
It can refer to one who commits an act, that the society they are part of, deems their behaviour to be totally against their accepted standards.
This includes acts such as Rape, Murder, Incest, and abuse of minors.
It is accepted that it is the laws or possibility of punishment, that limits the amount of people who would deviate from social norms.
In other words, without the laws, it is theorized that many more would pursue activities that society deems inappropriate for its culture.
