Basically a sub topic, it is designed for men, rather than women readers, and is more realistic in its depiction of male on male relationships, beyond the infatuation for the younger male.

One could say these are comics for men.

It is less about an older with young concept.

In Bara, the characters are more defined, to body proportions, instead of the emaciated look found in comics about twinks. More muscle definition is found.
