Today is World AIDS Day. On this day, December 1, once a year, people worldwide unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and commemorate people who have died from it. This year, in recognition, Next Door Entertainment is donating a percentage of its Web site sales today to support the Until There's a Cure foundation, which is a national organization dedicated to eradicating HIV/AIDS by raising awareness and funds. In addition to its own contribution, Next Door will add a "Donate Now" message to all its Web sites on December 1 to encourage visitors to click to the Until There's a Cure site and donate directly to the charitable foundation.
"We are proud to once again provide awareness and support for our friends at Until There's a Cure," Next Door president Stephan Sirard says. "Their message and campaigns about the importance of getting tested and knowing your status is something that we fully support."
In addition to the fund-raising activities, a special AIDS awareness public-service video is available. It features some sobering facts and figures about the epidemic (about 1.1 million Americans are living with HIV today--and half of them are men who have sex with men) and also offers prevention advice from several of Next Door's top stars, including Samuel O'Toole, Rod Daily and Marcus Mojo (who cares if some of them have left!?). As part of their message, the models encourage fans to use a condom, get tested regularly and know their status. You can watch the video above.
