I'm not a big fan of Facebook. I don't really like mixing my adult life with my nieces and nephews who friend me, and I work in gay porn so that adds a whole other level. I'm not ashamed of what I do for living, but it's just not appropriate to bring every facet of my life together in one place. For me to do much with Facebook, I'd have to become Sybil and split myself into two separate entities. And that's just too much work. Social networking is supposed to be fun. Bear Buzz is a site that seems to have solved all those problems for me. This Facebook clone lets you create an online profile and then you're off hunting bears. Whether it's for friendship, relationships, sex, or idle chatter, it's exactly what I need without all those relatives to shoo away. Bear Buzz also helps in the building of a community by providing pages on bear groups, events, and places to meet other men. Or you can just cruise through the galleries of pictures that other hairy men have uploaded ... you might see someone you like. I don't know how many men are registered on the site, but when I visited the site to write this post, there were 120 guys logged in. That's quite a group. So I think I'll set myself up with a profile over there where I can be myself.

I think, in the end, what it came down to in assessing just which sex positions - Triple Decker, anyone? - deserve to the lead the pack in Nightcharm's sex position manifesto, a compilation of some of the greatest fuck poses of gay porn, was which configurations really stretched the bounds of the imagination from mere novelty into a something, well, something sexually more byzantine.

There are a number of sites out there right now that are competing to become the next big thing in the bear world. I blogged here about a few of them: A Bear's Life is a gay bear lifestyle magazine that also has a website, Bearbook is hoping to become the Facebook of the hirsute crowd, and Bad Cub Club is looking to carve out their space in the big bear cave. Bear Nation is a bear community site that has just won the "Best Bear Site" award for the second year in a row from The Complete Bear.
And Bear Nation might just be the site to beat. The site connects bears, hairy men, cubs, and bear lovers through private messaging and live chat. But they also offer member blogs, videos, and a live bear activity feed. You can post photos of yourself or your bear event in photo albums or you can upload your videos to their Beartube. If you've got a bear event or a bear community group, you can list them on Bear Nation. Andre Barclay is not only the author but also the subject of this interesting autobiographical and philosophical blog. This is not to say in any way that it is one of those selfish and self-aggrandizing blogs at all - and let me be clear, even those can be hot! No, Andre Barclay's blog is rife with personal stories, all exclusively his own concerning his family, his parent's health, his family relationships mending over time after some obvious falling out - all that and more. Mr. Barclay's honesty is what is on display here and it serves a vital function for all of us, actually: it reminds us of ourselves. That we also have lives which have their career and emotional crises. That we also hear strange and often inappropriate judgments regarding our performances or our lifestyles. That we also want our dearest families to love us and to be able to give that back. Andre tries very hard to be himself. I think he succeeds admirably. But his honesty also can give us glimpses into a subject he delves into out of experience and which is newsworthy these days - bullying and its effects. Andre brings an experiential take into the concept which gives weight to his urging that the entire GLBT take more notice and act to do the small things it takes to make a better world. Not everything requires a grand gesture, is what he says. Sometimes, mere consistency shows a faith and strength we all need to buy into. If Andre is a stock option - I'm buying.

One of the great things about blogs is that you can find a blog on just about any subject. I guess that's why they called it the World Wide Web - you can find anything. Obedience Realized is a personal blog written by Vince and it's "a discussion of the joys and pitfalls of all things BDSM from the point of view of a gay man." In his most recent post he entertains us with the good time he had at Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend, and as he says, "If you didn't have fun, the fault is your own. Fun was everywhere, all you had to do was jump in." Rock My Blog is a bold, brilliant, complex and very Brazilian website. The language offers issues to English-only speakers and I see no ready translations available which, I suspect, was always the intent. In a sense, there is no need for abundant dialogue unless one subscribes to their newsletter. Generally, however, what gets presented in this gorgeous nest of a site are the best of the best of 'chic', Brazilian-style. This is absolutely fine by me and most of us, I am willing to wager. It is therefore somewhat "seminal", pardon the expression. This site is original and revelatory of the best of what Brazilian style is offering the fashion world, including advertisements and photos of the hottest men known to man. I may as well venture there are also some comely ladies in this site as well. It is an eye candy feast of epic proportions, as far as I am concerned, diabolically-devised to capture one right from the start and rewarding as hell, once involved in these scrumptious pages. I have a hard time believing I have missed it, the truth is, although I am more than positive others have known it well for quite some time. This one is clearly near the peak of relevant style and fashion, in no uncertain way.

I get that you have huge server costs but the advertising can be so aggressive it often obscures the video thereby defeating the point of even having the site.)
