Shrine To The Soap Hunks is exactly what it says it is. There are no mysteries on this blog and that makes it even better, in a way. In fact, that it is done in such simple and elegant detail, it somehow makes it even more appealing in its simplicity. At the top of the home page, there are two scroll-down menus announcing 1) -the series name or 2)- the actor featured. With over 7,000 pictures and 175 videos - many new and updated regularly - this site is a virtual contemporary encyclopedia of hot men, all of whom have been featured at one point or another in a Soap Opera on American TV. The pictures and videos also range far from those shots taken merely from the soaps. There are tons of candid pictures at the beach or videos featuring these guys in other roles, either from television or just running on the beach. Many scrumptious shirtless vids and pictures grace the posts, along with the standard and equally intriguing swimming trunk pictures we all know and love. Superficial and modern, this is one of those candy sites made for looking and, honestly, not much more. The few interviews they have are good quality, overheard at other locations, and revealing for all that. That they are included is great because it fills out the picture of the stud just that much more.

Gay On The Range is a wild and funny trip through the heyday of paperback sleaze dating back through the '50's and '60's, complete with lurid front covers of the books and some wonderfully insightful commentary by this well-represented author of a terrific and totally diverting web site. His purpose is humor and a lighter look at the stereotypes and fundamentally misguided truisms regarding sex and relationships between men. He sure deserves credit for reaching that goal and even surpassing what one might expect from it. As he states: "This site is a time capsule, a glimpse into a handful of publishers pushing the boundaries of "acceptability in the quest for further fistfuls of dollars." The campy cover styles shown here were replaced in the Seventies with more realistic and laid back, less tense covers, so this period does indeed represent the true heyday of a genre. Cataloged thoroughly and with care, the absurdities and the art as well are presented from an era which requires and has always required an unvarnished exposition. Many of these covers show an unbridled sense of freedom at the same time as coexisting with the ugly realities of the day. Sympathetic covers are not the least bit rare and represent a group of talented gay artists toiling under at times hideously dreadful stereotyping. This is a bold and forceful look at the representation of that era. To his credit, the intelligent writer makes the right calls in its introduction. And, bless him, he takes the trouble to laugh a little. I just adore this site.

Sexy Male Wallpapers is not a mysterious site. They do deliver sexy - and I do mean sexy - wallpapers. Brian, the proprietor of the site, says he was motivated to begin a strictly wallpapers blog because: "certain free wallpaper sites wouldn't upload any male wallpapers where the males were just as under dressed as the some of the female wallpapers." Great point. He chooses strikingly attractive hunks for his wallpapers and he has some very elegant taste. Actors, singers, dancers, sports figures and models adorn his pages, all in various stages of undress. Tremendously good-looking and all wearing the advertised minimum, this is a one stop shop for free wallpapers. Brian's passion shows clearly in his selections inasmuch as every guy in here is a virtual Adonis. Interestingly, he studs the blog with the odd bit of contemporary music news as well. Eccentric, in a way, the blog is another creative individual project which ends up telling us quite a bit about the guy who made it. A seriously good guy, this Brian, as his obvious generosity and urge to "share the wealth" make this a very cool blog.

For those into muscular chests and male nipple play, have we found a site for you! It's called Pexual, and it's the only site of its type that I've found on the web. Sure, there are some sites out there that have some nipple pinching, licking and teasing, but that's ALL that you'll find on Pexual - bodybuilders showing their chests and playing with their nips. Reel Gay is the next generation epoch-breaking multi media organ of Manmade Media Incorporated. Founded by Michael Manuel in 1994, "Manmade" was originally an entertainment news organization, with press credentials now international and respected by diverse entities like the LA Police and the National Press Club in Washington, DC. What it has evolved into, however, is something else entirely. Complete with huge insider looks at Hollywood and the celebrity world and the arts in general, this group has produced many entertainments on their own, with a budget to triple itself in the upcoming year. This is the source of the nation's first gay TV channel, for example. The emerging gay entertainment industry is getting progressively larger as a result of the tireless work of this organization and the results are impressive as hell. Televising the Gay Olympic Games in San Fransisco, doing spots at celebrity events such as the Oscars, the professionalism and rich body of work suggests a legitimate alternative entertainment complex oriented to a gay audience, if not far wider. Politically critical and hard hitting in its direct shots and observations regarding current events, the entirety of the enterprise is refreshing and hopeful. And growing! Reel Gay is the representative effort of the entire group's direction. It is simply loaded.

xJock is pretty much exactly what it says. The author is an ex-athlete, although the sport is never mentioned, but he shows signs of "knowing athletics" and I will leave it at that. He was obviously once incredibly fit and well-built and now he finds himself sort of "embracing the horror" of becoming the polar opposite of that. He displays some wide open hard core sex on his blog, much of it involving himself, which is rather interesting in its own right, simply owing to the openness and honesty of the effort. He seeks to fully engage his audience as much as is possible, from imploring any comments, insults or feedback of any kind from readers of his blog and responding directly. He delivers the impression of definitely paying attention. This is one of those blogs where you feel you are nearly conversing with the author - it seems that immediate and he seems that available. I will admit to my own biases against the basic premise right up front - humiliation I can follow as an erotic tool. Where I have a tougher time is in self-destructive behavior. OK, I am an optimist at heart - it is truly a bias of my own. Just the same, embracing the deterioration of fitness seems somehow nearly over the line. And, now, having said that, I applaud the sheer novelty of the idea and I myself "embrace the horror" of not knowing why I enjoy this blog. This dude has balls.............and you can even see them!

It's a world full of porn sites featuring shaved, buff and perfect guys. Heck, these days even the amateur guys shave or trim their body hair and spend time working out till they no longer look like amateurs. That's why I find Island Studs refreshing - and sexy. Most of their guys are diamonds in the rough. They're attractive regular guys who don't always have perfect bodies and perfectly shaped or shaven pubic hair. They mostly seem laid-back, relaxed and like they're having fun. Fag Stag is a pretty cool site, home of an uncompromising fellow with insightful opinions and a nice grit. The menu mentions that a "fag stag" is a heterosexual male who prefers the company of gay men. While it is well worth noting he may well mean that, a look inside shows some pretty steaming hot gay sex. If he is a hetero man, he certainly appreciates and displays some red hot utterly gay male stuff, as in videos and pictures. He also slides the selection bar to celebrity issues, book reviews, movie reviews - in short, he seems to ramble along unfettered, doing pretty much whatever he feels like saying and posting. I found it actually refreshing and surprisingly in equal measure. A post dealing with a Youtube video of Whoopi Goldberg taking aim at bad politics, a post showing a band from the Early 80's that most of us have forgotten - Breakfast Club - and a very detailed examination of a great blow job encompass much of the first page. He finds Book Clubs devoted to gay literature among other offerings. In short, this is a wide ranging, sinewy effort by a good writer with an interested and incisive mind. Good blog here, fun to read and entertaining as hell.

Cynicism and the City is just an exceptionally well-written blog by what I think is a outstandingly precocious 19 year old gay student who reveals his innermost thoughts and sensations with the skill of a writer many years his senior. There is an almost painfully natural talent observed, watching his words scroll. He makes enormous and terribly frank sense in many of his conclusions regarding his own "outing" and the terrible burdens faced by everyone in dealing with him, including, of course, himself. There are other situations and events he describes as well, but the writings involving his personal life could well be a hidden gem for anyone looking for a like-minded person who has discovered he was gay yet who wrestles with it inter personally, with close family. Even then, his descriptions are vivid and evocative,very specifically aimed and hitting their emotional targets like a laser. This is a young writer with a great gift, well worth reading more of. In response to the claim that his parents felt he might be "ill" (obviously curable!), he had this gem: "I told them, not very calmly, that that was ridiculous but apart from that I'm so surprised at how little I argued with them. I think I was just resigned to their opinions." Human and insightful, I think this blog is a real keeper on any bookmark list.

Buck Wylde calls itself "Buck Wylde - The Porn Blog for Men that Love Men". This could not possibly be more evident than in the perusal of this red hot adult gay male porn blog. The guys posted throughout this blog share certain definite characteristics which inform and actually proscribe the blog into its uniqueness. The selection of episodes itself says much as does the cheeky posting of cartoonesque blurbs by the mouths of the subjects. This blog has a shape and form that breathes some life into plain old porn. I like the thematic approach to love and sex.
