Apollo's Horror and Porno Show
Slasher flicks and extreme satire seem to be the name of the game here at Apollo After Dark. As I come across more blogs these days, I am always impressed with the amount of talent and imagination our young folks have these days. From the worst horror movies, to spoofs on celebs such as Fabio, the videos, blogs posts, and even poetry here are pretty damn funny. Sometimes silly even. And to me, that can be funny at the right times. The bizarre, profane, stupid, and morphed can also be found. I love the spoofs on commercial products and popular porn. The emphasis is on gay pornography though, and I would imagine our bloggers are gay and love to play on these things. At times their humour seems to be so ambiguous, that's it hard to tell. I don't think they're being derogatory though. Funny blog for sure.
World History of Male Love
Now here's an interesting resource indeed. How often do you run across a site, or any knowledge medium which tells the true story and history about male to male love? I don't know of too many. The front page gives us an interesting perspective comparing sexual history written by the victors to what really might be the truth. There are some images and painting from human history which some believe to be two men or two women and not a man and a woman. As we all know, some of these portraits are so ambiguous gender-wise, that it can be hard to tell. Our main menu is atop each page, where things like "Homosexual Traditions", "Gay History & Mythology", "Homoerotic Art", and a "Forum" are available. The site can be translated into many languages for those who don't do English so well, and the site design is both easy on the eyes and put together well. It certainly evokes what it needs to when it comes to representing the subject of Gay Art History. Great and informative site.
Boys and Boys
The first thing I'd like to say about Boys and Boys is....wow. For some of the best looking men you may ever see in your life, you will certainly want to go here and look around. The service being offered to us here is Male Escorts. We all know that in order for men to pull of this most interesting of professions, they must be very good looking. I mean, who's going to hire Joe-blow for a date when you can pick him up at the bar for the cost of a few beers? No no, these men are exceptional. And not in looks either. Educated, worldly, and ready to party at the drop of a hat, they're what you might call "perfect". The site is quite easy to navigate and set up just about as professionally as possible. Some of the largest cities on the globe offer availability to these incredible studs. London, New York, and even Moscow included. Further down the main page on your left are thumbnail pics of some of Boys and Boys' hottest models. Click on them to see a profile page and what they're available for. Scrolling right to the bottom will give you the latest additions to the Boys and Boys catalogue, and provide recent news. Even if you're not looking to "pay for it", even just browsing you could have a fantastic time here. To say the very least.
Homobilia
Well it would appear as though vintage photography is making a serious comeback these days. Homobilia features a large collection of "one-of-a-kind, rare, and unusual gay art and memorabilia." From photos of the first official gay pride celebration in North America in 1977, to pics taken from gay pulp fiction books and fashion magazines, it's all here. From what I can make out, it's all for sale too. I can't comment on whether the prices are good or not, as I don't have a lot of knowledge of this kind of photography. However, I would imagine $35 for a very rare photo from the 1977 gay pride parade must be worth at least that. For those who might have a real affinity for old school bodybuilders from the early 50's right into the 70's, you may just be in total heaven. Early drag shows, old prints and drawings, and turn-of-the-century real photo postcards are also available. The main theme here is "men" - from all different walks of life and in different lifestyles and settings. Your easy-to-use menu is at the center top of the page and will take you to wherever you'd like to go.
Pornisation
We all appreciate free porn right? Indeed. Pornisation brings you a massive collection of free pic and video galleries all broken up into every category you can think of. Do you like twinks? There are plenty of them here engaging in everything from solo jerkoff sessions to hardcore fucking. If fetish and kink are more your type of thing, check out "Fetish" in the right sidebar to get a healthy taste of all things sporty, sweaty, and even "different". Fans of ebony studs or bears need not fear of course, for there are plenty of hunky dark fellas and furry fuckers to be had as well. 336 free galleries in all you'll able to find at Pornisation. As a dude who's always on the hunt for free porn on the net, I have yet to see too many sites featuring that much gay podge for nothing. On those days when you really want to give the ol' pud a pull, whatever is on your menu sexually may just be found and played out right before your eyes. Click on the link dudes.
VirtuaGuyHD
Even as person who dabbles in web design, recent media formats, and gets around the net a lot, I still get dumbfounded at some of the things I come across. VirtuaGuyHD offers a free, as well as premium, service that is to say the least...unique. Virtual male strippers for your desktop. How about that? Talk about the perfect looking men too. Wow! They're computer generated so they would pretty much have to be flawless right? Upon entering the front page, you certainly can't miss the download link to your right. Just for kicks, I downloaded the free version and checked it out.
I can attest that it's clean and caused no problems on my PC. I was greeted by a very handsome and hairy man who was naked from the waist up. I tried to get him to take off more, however, that is what the paid service offers. Still though, having some really hot stud talk to you like you're gold - and yes they do that - even if they aren't complete naked, can't be all bad. He He. There were a few bugs in the software such as the odd stutter here and there, but that could have been my machine.
Go have some fun!
Closet Conundrums
As soon as Closet Conundrums loads up, you know the blog belongs to an Asian fella. Phillipino to be exact. I always like the things they put together online personally. There's always a certain "flamboyishness" to their creations. Next time you buy some exotic asian tea or something, just look at the box and how ornate it is. Indeed. Our blogger here is featuring some very unique men to say the least. At least, I've never seen a lot of these men before. Not all are Asian though. He seems to really dig the muscled-up white dudes too. With each set of photos is a little blurb here and there, but he definitely focuses more on the visual. Entries go back as far as March 2006, so there is no shortage of hotties to look at that's for sure. The "Random Pics" vertical marquee in the right sidebar was a nice thing to check out. Nothing spectacular here really. While the author does get into some personal ramblings and whatnot, he seems to cheer himself and all of us up with pics of really really hot men. It's blogs like this that make me realize how much I love muscle. Enjoy!!
Cardboard Whores
Beware my friends, this is the "About Me" description in the right sidebar at Carboard Whore: "I'm an atypical thirty-something gay man living in the south. I don't promise that this blog will be interesting or original. Deal with it." So you get pretty much whatever comes out of the blogmaster's mouth. Which I can say isn't too offensive really, and the man can write. I wouldn't have stuck around otherwise. His ramblings - although sometimes a little scattered - made a whole lot of sense to me. He obviously really likes his ultra-hot studs with all of their teasing sculpted groin photos and shower scenes. And I must thank him for including these men on his blog, because they gave me a raging hardon. I will have to deal with that though once I'm finished with this paragraph. LOL. Seriously though, a simple blogger theme with a very interesting header, portraying the writing and personal sexual tastes of an interesting guy awaits you. He'll make you a little mad, very horny, and sometimes even a little sad. And once you see the photos he puts up, things will look up indeed. Particularly that thing between your legs.
Blog the Hegemony
As we are all aware I'm sure, gay oriented movies are now becoming a larger part of the Hollywood blockbuster scene. Blog The Hegemony seems to focus on this fact and gives us some preview pics and a bit of descriptive text about the flicks. I have to say that the design and the flash image galleries are a bit unique as far as blogs go. I will admit I am not a huge fan of flash, however, everything loaded just fine for me while surfing around. Just be sure to click the inside of each photo or click "close" in order to go back to the main thumbnail gallery. Interesting text and introspective critique accompany the flash galleries, giving us a fairly decent indication of what each movie is about and whether it moves you or not. According to the bloggers opinion anyway. Although there is an emphasis on hot men starring in these features, and some of them are in fact gay oriented, you can find entries on many different categories of pictures, including Sci-fi and Humour. Blog entries go back about a year, so there certainly is plenty to read and browse through. Be sure to browse through "Most Popular" for the good ones. Cool blog.
Artist Empire
Wow! There sure are some talented people on this planet. Yet another astounding artist colony awaits us with open arms, legs, and whatever else you can think of. He He. Many artists' works are portrayed here, thus giving us a most enjoyable look at many different types of talent. In the main header, you can choose between "Painters", "Photographs", "3D Art", and "Comics". Each section opens up a slide show of feature art. There's a rather annoying mouse over link to the immediate left of each image where you can choose an artist, and their pieces will show up in the frame. It's hard to actually see which artist you are choosing because the menu flaps all over the place. But if you're not concerned about this, the gorgeous men and erotic creations should suffice. The work is wonderful of course. Some artists have their own blogs which you can get to by clicking some thumbnail images of their work at the bottom of each page. While a nice looking site by all means, navigation is a bit wonky, and at times even annoying. However, if you're just going over for a quick look, what you see should certainly impress you.
The Ashton Cruz Zoo
Well I have to say the first blog post at The Ashton Cruz Zoo is a bit of a tear-jerker, but for all the right reasons. Paul Newman's recent passing at the age of 83 is presented with a You Tube video and some photos throughout his long and eventful life. This blog seems to be dedicated to hot men of all types and prestiges. From huge stars such as Newman to really hot and hung gay models, the media will excite you sexually, astound you information-wise, and perhaps even move you emotionally. I can't see any way to get to older posts than what are on the front page, so how old the blog is, I have no idea. It seems to be update often though. Your blogger describes himself as thus - "I'm a cool guy, the guy you see at a party or at a bar always surrounded by friends and always making people laugh. I'm also very sexual, if I catch a whiff of horny in the air I hunt it, catch it and put it to use, you know Immediately if I want to fuck you because I will make it very clear very soon..." An interesting dude, with an interesting blog. Nothing out of the ordinary, but certainly not boring.
Dchooi Doodles
It would seem as though gay bear drawing is becoming a fairly popular form of artisist expression. Either that or we're just getting very lucky here at Gaydemon, running into all these wonderful gems. Your front page is pretty basic and gives out a bit of a warning to those not olde enough to browse the site. To your left is your main navigation menu. Our webmaster is Don, a 31 year old artist from Auckland, New Zealand. It's no surprise that he is a graphic designer for a living, judging by the fantastic portrayals he conjures up of sexy, fury studs. "Galleries" shows us some of Don's work going back as far as 2004. He has definitely improved when it comes to detail, and has even perhaps become much more of a lover of cigar-chomping, heavy hitting burly blokes. One thing I can say about this type of animation is that although it is usually based around the same ilk of man, every artist has their own particular of bringing them across. Don is no exception to this, and his work represents all that is alluring and wonderful about bearish men. Great creations indeed!
Poz Magazine
Well now. How often do we come across a blog that actually speaks blatantly and intimately about living with AIDS? I don't come across a lot of them anyway. All you ever wanted to know about this horrible disease - how it's transmitted, how it can be prevented, new treatments, and testimonials from those living with it - can be found here. Poz Magazine has obviously been around for some time (sorry if I sound out of the loop) as the resources and wealth of information is staggering. Professionally designed and laid out, your main menu runs horizontally and will take you to wherever you want to go. If you seem to be having some problems relating to your illness, search for experts in the HIV and AIDS fields who may be able to help. Worldwide. The latest research on treatment options, cures and the like can be found by going to "Treatment" and then "Treatment News". I could go on forever here. There is that much to check out. One thing I must touch on though is that although it's mostly gay men who are afflicted with this horrific plague, the blog and articles do not seem to be gender specific. This is most refreshing from my perspective, as we all know this illness is not discriminatory when it comes to sex. A fantastic resource which all of us should visit and learn from, regardless of our HIV status.
Sexuality.org
One thing about the internet as we all know is the versatility it offers when it comes to different types of information. This would include sex of course. Gaydemon's forte'. The Society For Human Sexuality provides a wealth of information on all matters of what we can all experience during sexual interaction with others. How to make if safer, erotic massage, and yes, even multiple orgams for men. The front page is set up nice and easy with all your links quite readable and laid out perfectly. If you choose to look for resources in a particular city, check out "City Guides". "Learning More" provides even more information on all things sexually orientated. One thing I found refreshing here is that it isn't all gender specific. While men and women are quite different physiologically, sometimes there are things which stimulate us equally. It's all about sharing and
making this most wonderful of life's gift as enjoyable as it can possibly be. How can a resource like that not be excellent? Be sure to go have a look.
