Most magazines start as magazines and then become websites. Well, not Gayletter. The popular online weekly newsletter that has been informing NYC gays what's happening around town since 2008 has made the jump to the printed page. For the past six months, co-founders Tom Jackson and Abi Benitez have been secretly working on a magazine version of their site that will feature original photo essays, interviews, and travel and fashion stories.
The first issue is out now and includes an interview and photo shoot with arty porn star Colby Keller, plus Justin Vivian Bond weighs in on gay marriage and Daniel Moss showcases some hot boys in briefs. Also featured is the art of Jim French, Red Hot 100 creator Thomas Knights, Gio Black Peter and Robert W. Richards, among many others.
The Gayletter guys are debuting the magazine this Thursday-Sunday at the NY Art Book Fair (MoMA PS1, 22-25 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City); it will be available in bookstores and art museum shops around the world, too. You can also get a copy of Gayletter (The Magazine) by clicking here. And if you haven't checked out their excellent NSFW XXX tumblr, you can do so here.
