NYC theater queens are already salivating about the upcoming Broadway Beauty Pageant. The seventh-annual edition takes place Monday, May 20, at 8 pm at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (60 Washington Square South). As usual, this arty extravaganza will feature hot male cast members from prominent Broadway productions going jazz mano a mano for the title. The showy guys will compete in various categories, including talent, interview and (our fave) swimsuit. This year, the hunky bunch includes (above, from left) Julius C. Carter (Mr. Spider-Man), Yurel Echezarreta (Mr. Matilda), Matthew Goodrich (Mr. Nance), Paul HeeSang Miller (Mr. Mamma Mia) and Orion Griffiths (Mr. Pippin).
Celebrity judges--scene stealer Andrea Martin from Pippin, Ugly Betty queen Michael Urie from Buyer and Cellar and veteran Billy Porter from Cyndi Lauper's smash Kinky Boots--will be on hand to question the contestants, but the winner is decided by the audience. Actress Tovah Feldshuh hosts the evening, and the event benefits the Ali Forney Center, which provides housing and promotes awareness for the homeless LGBT youth of New York City.
